Being a non driver, I have no idea how i'll get to the Boxing day game, regardless of kick off time.

It's long sodding walk from B32 to B6!
Is there no one that does car share in your area Peter? I know its not the point but it would lessen the pain. Yes I agree the boxing day timing is a mare i never want to eat after getting home from those strange kick off times. So the whole family suffers.

Also, don't they run extra trains/buses on match days?  Or do they not do it on Bixing Days??

When the  fixture list for the forthcoming season was published on the 26th June it showed that of the 19 games to be played at home in the Premiership, 15 of them would start at the traditional time of 15:00 on a Saturday.

The same list published 16 days later gave out the information that those 15 games had been reduced to only ten. The other nine games were to be the usual mish-mash of Sunday games, evening games, and sundry other games to be played at some time or date that might or might not be convenient, or even possible, for the customer to attend.

Also there was no doubt that when the various Cup games had been fitted into the schedule still more of these 15:00 Saturday games would disappear, and even more when Sky made some last minute changes.

Supporters are only welcome because we provide the atmosphere, the noise, the passion. All the rest is absolute bollocks.

I've just, out of interest, checked on the Trainline website to see if I would be able to get to the Spurs game. It would be a long day!

Depart Huddersfield 07.35 Arrive Euston 14.53 (7 hours 18 minutes).

Depart St Pancras 20.30 Arrive Huddersfield 05.27 (8 hours 57 minutes)

For the 380 mile round trip, that averages at 23mph! I reckon I know people who could do it faster by pushbike.

That game crossed my mind as well. We won 3-0 if i remember rightly. Surely we've played a home game at 3pm on Boxing Day since then?

You can't buy a season ticket and then moan about the fixtures changing, thats the deal, and it has been for quite a few years.

If you feel undervalued, treated with disdain, that your views are ignored and that sponsors, Sky subscribers, players and money are all put first, you'd be right.

Do what I did 5 years ago.

Walk away.

The game has changed, a few years ago TV money was a bonus, now it is the bread and butter of a football franchise, sorry club. The supporters attending games are now the bonus, if AVFC get 20,000 for a TV game, they have still made more money than getting 42,000 for a non televised game.

Was Chelsea in 1996 a Boxing Day game?  Zola got two I think, but that might have been another time.

The last I remember attending was v Liverpool in 2001 ish I think. Schmeichel did one of his quick counter attacking throws which hit the ref on the back and Liverpool scored from the ensuing confusion. He had also ballsed up with a similar throw at Southampton early that season which allowed them to equalise just before half time - he was still looking for Giggsy with his clearances but was finding Hadji instead.  We also lost at home to Man U 1-0 when De Bilde was on loan but I think that may have been the previous season. I can't remember a daylight kick off since then.

They always have to piss around with our Christmas games don't they.

That's another one in the "I won't be going to that then" column.
