I think the only one who had a genuine complaint about not playing was Luke Young.

After the end of the last home game of last season, the players did their customary walk around the pitch. I don't think I'm mistaken in saying that I saw MON walk up to Harewood, pat him on the back and shake his hand, seemingly wishing him well. I don't think Martin held a grudge in Marlon's case, he just clearly didn't think he was up to it.

He can talk all he likes about how much he just wanted to play football, but talk is cheap when he could have pushed for a move much sooner and no doubt facilitated one by agreeing to the wages he's probably now on. But players like to draw their wages for the length of their contracts and then have their cake and eat it and complain about not being able to play too.

Good Luck to him, but I'd have been more impressed if he'd pushed for a move much sooner.

Guy - I like the way you turn that back on Marlon.     O'Neill bought him, paid over the odds for him, on a hefty salary, realised early on he wasn't up to him, but kept him anyway.   There is only one person at fault here.

I'll never forget this site when it looked as if he was going to The Blues.
'Ha ha what a shit player'
'I've sent a text to my Blues supporting mate to take the piss'
'Awful player'

When he signed for us, it was
'Well he got 14 goals in the Premier for West Ham, O'Neill has spotted a rough diamond here.'

I never said I didn't think MON made a mistake signing him. He clearly did. I'm merely stating that I don't think it was a case of MON holding a grudge as I would agree seemed to be the case when it came to Luke Young (seemingly undeserved), Nicky Shorey (seemingly deserved) and Nigel Reo-Coker (still undecided).

If Marlon only wanted to play first-team football, there was a very simple way of achieving that a long time ago. Presumably for a large financial reason, he chose not to take it.
