General, our  new appointment has similarities in appearance to your good self i think. Was that one of the criteria, and did you interview him >

How come it took so long too make the appointment?

have you ever know a manger to completely surprise a club by not only walking out on them 5 days before the start of a season but his whole backroom staff leave too?  Yes, we know that coaching staff often follow a manager to their new appointment, a few weeks later perhaps, but at the same time?

No wonder this has taken some time.

i am really really sorry general but i feel that this is an awful appointment.  It took all this time and gerard houllier was the best you could come up with.
of course i will support the club as always but i am not excited about this appointment as i was when martin took over

General

Congratulations on a clever, forward thinking appointment, made all the more difficult by the frankly enormous amount of shit the previous manager dropped us in.

I think the club have got it right.

General. Welcome back!

Well done to you, Randy and the rest of the 'top team' on a good appointment.

My elder son has already sent me a text from Ibiza:

'Hou - lee - ays Claret & Blue Army' I think he's practising singing it with two other Villa lads in the bars in readiness for Monday night at Stoke!

P.S. Forget those stupid questions posed to you on another site by a Manxy accountant who'll now no doubt have his third leg between his legs!

General, have you had a chance to speak to the new manager? What are your initial thoughts? How does his philosophy on football and the future of Villa differ from MON?

pmk - I think you've made your point loud and clear. He's an appointment that is being welcomed by many people today, myself included. Maybe you can show that you have an open mind, and get behind him too. You've never clearly stated what your real objection with him is other than to repeat ad nauseum in every related thread how poor a choice this is.

A message to the Daily Mirror sports writers who obviously read this thread & seem intent to pick out and publish only negative comments about our club.

"YOU CAN FUCK OFF SOMEWHERE ELSE NOW"

General - a good / sensible appointment under the circumstances. A manager with vast experience & knowledge of not only the Premiership but world football. I think he has come here with a point to prove.

Those who think the entire process of recruiting a manager can be conducted in a few days are delusional.

Hey General;

Just to let you know, the majority (included me) of Villa fans are happy with Houllier being our new manager, so just ignore the negative Villa fans who just keep on moaning and are never happy. Houllier is an interesting pick but he's won several cups and trophies which shows he's a winning and successful manager so hopefully he can get the Villa winning some cups and trophies again.

Up The Villa!
