We're up next, against Tranmere. Villa & Blues are in the finals, as host city.

With 5 and 6 aside football you need to be able to pass the ball well. So we had Taylor and Egiogu in out team who were good players for us but no way could anyone say they were good passers.

I think we made a tactical error in trying to copy the current first team and not play any football, just hoof it and hope...

I see the noses won it then, following the tried and trusted formula for winning all forms of overage football.

Make sure you have the youngest average age of all the teams in the tournament.

Then stick a fat ****** in goal.

Not to mention the 8 page full colour pull-out in the Evening Mail.

And we can look forward to the commemorative reprint of it in 25 years time.

Why do we always do so shite in this - don't Staunton and Cowans run rings around most teams in the other retired footballers competition?
I thought Benni Carbone's explosive return in a Villa shirt last summer was the start of a bright future (past).

My mate's dad played in that; Neil Thompson and my mate said he had a word with Yorkie and said he was a lovely bloke.
