Surprised Carew never got a mention as houllier got rid of him too! Ultimately if true ifs tough shit, and the players know where the door is.

I don't want keV mac as he appears a nice guy and I'm sure. The players would love that rather than a man who can impose discipline, if houllier gets it then I hope he will get our full support.

Its amazing how much the papers can get away with by saying a 'source',they should be made to name the source,or write nothing instead, then there pages would be empty.

I know Frieldal had a good game against Everton but he's 40 next season and he will need replacing. There are enough times on here when people are questioning him.

I really can't see that he would have a problem working with Houlier, I doubt Warnock would either he was 22 when he was loaned out

I've just had a horrible thought! Doesn't Houlier love Heskey?

He paid £11m for him.

This snippet should automatically rule him out of contention, I'd forgotten about that.

I seem to recall from past interviews that Warnock has a bit of a chip on his shoulder about Liverpool selling him but I think his ire was directed more towards Benitez (and who can blame him) than Houllier.

He was one of the most promising young strikers in the country at the time and didn't do too badly in his first few years at Liverpool.

Freidel is near the exit door anyway. A valid criticism of MON, whom i supported, was that both Shay Given and Joe Hart have ebeen available and would have given us both better medium and long term service.

Shay Given was available to Man Citeh only because they tapped him up and offered the silly money that year. Joe Hart has only ever been available on loan. But we do seriously need a full time replacement for Brad Snr and Brad Jnr is not the one.

If he has a chip about being sold, I would assume that's entirely aimed at Benitez, since Houllier just loaned him out to get experience....

I know Friedel had a good game against Everton but he's 40 next season and he will need replacing.
Why? Because he's 40? Get real. If he keeps making spectacular saves that keep us in games, then I'd keep him in the team. Being a Goalie isn't the same as being an outfield player, he needs to have good reflexes, and I've seen very little evidence that he hasn't got them still.

Also, he needs to be able to position himself and read the game ahead of him, neither of these will suffer from his age.

If he stays fit, and there's no indication he won't, then I'd keep hold of one of the most reliable, experienced goal keepers in the league.
