If General Krulac has been appointed it would explain his no show on his question thread recently ?

Or maybe he has 'done an O'Neill'

Well, apologies to all.  I started this thread - even though it looked bullshit it had enough detail to tempt my interest.  Sorry for wasting time.  Really disappointed.  :-[

Ronald Koeman: I'll Bring Back Aston Villa's Glory Days.

Just read that on the Sunday/Daily express website.

Interesting....

I have it on good authority that interviews will be taking place early next week. You heard it here second.

If we were interested in a manager currently at another club (or country) would we have to make a formal approach to get permission before speaking to him?  And if so, is that something that would be public knowledge?

This round of interviews that may or may not be happening next week tends to suggest that it will candidates who are currently unemployed.

A bit like Bradey I don't have a strong opinion for or against. He's won some stuff and not been so great in other positions. Still, he has some pedigree, and will have a number of contacts in Europe. If it was him expect some forays into the European transfer market which will be nice change.

His management record is not that great. Can't see him improving it at Villa. Avoid.

You have some first hand knowledge of him from his time in Portugal off course. Sometimes managers learn from their errors so I'm willing to people a chance. But for me he'd be an adequate hire, not a top hire like you and I are discussing on the other thread.

Yeah koeman seems to have a great start with his clubs but soon after his teams seem to decline and struggle. Dunno about this one.

Koeman certainly seems to be making the right noises about this job, and he's better qualified than most of the managers who are out of work. I only really know of his time at Valencia when they were in an absolute shambles, but it seemed like he was on a hiding to nothing there due to their mental owner. He still managed to win the Copa del Rey and get them into Europe somehow.

I think this can be kept in the other thread now that Friday has been and gone.
