A new manager by Friday??
« on: August 24, 2010, 10:55:15 PM »
Anyone read this post by GingerCollins29 on VillaTalk?

"Mr. Lerner prefers to be discreet with these things, which is why there has not been a sniff.

Unfortunately if I mention a name, then I will be liable. However the new manager has managed at International Level before, and one of his targets has played under him. I maintain still that the manager will be revealed within the media on Thursday, with an official press conference on Friday. There are 3 main transfer targets, a defender, a midfielder (this is the player that has worked under the new manager), and a striker. Deals for the midfielder and the striker will be completed prior to the Everton game, whereas there has been a delay on the defender deal due to wages. Unfortunately I cannot confirm when this player will join."

Interesting or bullshit?

Probably bullshit. If it is true I'm thinking Eriksson as Bradley said today he'd had no contact with Lerner.

According to that, the players will be arriving in almost exactly the same time as the manager -give or take a day.

I'm not saying it can't happen, but I don't recall too many instances of a new manager/ new player (s) combo rocking up in tandem at a club.

Alex Ferguson has managed at international level.

The midfielder who has played under him before is Mike Phelan. Watch out Barca!

Wasn't that what Sven did when he joined Citeh? I seem to remember he signed a few players in quick succession.

It's hard to believe that there would be no leaks.  Unfortunately, I don't put too much stock in unsubstantiated anonymous conjecture.  What about the guy that just left A.C. Milan because he couldn't stand that blowhard Berscolini?

Could this amount of dealing be underway without the media leaking something? That's what makes me suspicious about the original thread. Could be good news though, if it is a decent name.  :-\

He's not been appointed yet and we're already discussing player wages? Is this a Robobubble?

Leonardo? He's been a pundit on the Beeb so has good inglese but I don't think he's been in this management lark long enough for us to take the proverbial punt on him.
