Downing and Warnock on the same wing against a physical side is just carnage waiting to happen.

For all the other things about Warnock last year that impressed me -decent ditribution, good first touch, turn of pace- the single biggest asset he had was he was fearless in the tackle.

Only slight of frame and throwing his body on the line, blocking shots and generally getting stuck in.

Well the distribution has gone to pot and he looks ropey in one-on-one situations.
I hope it's just a form thing and he gets back to something approximating his level of performance last year.

Shorey was a decent footballer, but always a bit of a pussy.

We know Warnock is capable of so  much more - we've already seen it.

Warnock got torn apart by Wayne Fuckin Routledge today, unacceptable.

Overated player who is having a very bad spell.  Was half decent for periods last year but not good enough in my opinion.  I have to agree he is not much better than Shorey.

I'd let him go to his boyhood idols 'Pool if they came in with £5m.

His defending has always worried me but he looks quality going forward.

He's shit and has been pretty much exclusively since his whiplash at Old Trafford. Good effort, shocking positional sense, not strong enough in the tackle - a real weak link.

Same. I bet he's on about 35k a week too.

Makes you think, I wonder how much someone like Assou-Ekotto is on at Spurs? He cost under half the price of Warnock.

Or Figueora? Or Ilunga? Or Enrique?

Good player, out of form. I'd have him over Shorey no question. He's no Freddie though to be honest. But of course with the silly fee we paid for him, it's understandable people will expect more from him.

I would keep him i think it's just a loss of form.

He was excellent when he first signed, but recently he's been very poor and today he was awful.

Bouma was twice the player.  I haven't rated Warnock since he signed. In fact, I'd rather play Luke Young at left back than Warnock.

Please let's not start hounding Warnock as the new scapegoat - we are three games into the season FFS and he certainly wasn't any worse that a great many of the team today.  Let's keep things in perspective.
