Ticket News
« on: August 16, 2010, 10:30:08 AM »
From the OS:

Following progression through to the Carling Cup Final and FA Cup Semi Final during the 2009-10 season, the Club can now announce a revised system of ticket allocation for future cup semi/final fixtures held at neutral venues.

Had we reached the FA Cup Final last season, our ticket allocation of 25,000 would far-outstrip demand from our 27,500 Season Card Holders.

Additionally the Club was also aware that 12,000 tickets were allocated to the Europa League finalists.

This new system places greater emphasis and fairness when allocating priority tickets upon cup-tie attendance and Season Card renewal.

Key features are:
- First priority will be given to 10/11 Season Card Holders who have regularly attended previous rounds of the competition and attended Premier League away games next season

- Greater priority will be placed upon 10/11 Season Card Holders who have held their seat for a number of consecutive seasons since 1999/2000

- The removal of Loyalty Points as a measure of ticket allocation. Identifying 10/11 Season Card Holders who have followed the Club throughout previous rounds as well as rewarding those who have held consecutive Season Cards over recent seasons

This system means that it has never been more vital to purchase or keep hold of your Season Card than NOW!

Allocating priority tickets

Arrow BulletCup fixtures held at neutral venues may mean that the Club receives a ticket allocation which is vastly smaller than demand for them.

Arrow BulletIn such circumstance, priority will be given to 2010-11 Season Card Holders who have regularly attended domestic/European Cup games - home or away - whilst away Premier League attendance may also come into consideration.

Arrow BulletPriority will then be given to Season Card Holders who held a season card consecutively since 1999. The Club can confirm that loyalty points will not be used to allocate priority tickets.

Arrow BulletThis will enable the Club to allocate tickets fairly when demand from supporters exceeds the number of tickets that can be issued for priority games.

Order of Priority

Priority 1: 2010-11 Season Card Holders who have attended home and away cup games as well as away Premier League games. This will initially be based on all other games played, then 80 per cent of games played followed by 70 per cent and 50 per cent of all 'other' games' played. If you have attended less than 50 per cent of all other games played you will not qualify for 1st priority.

Priority 2: 2010-11 Season Card Holders who have attended home Cup games. This will initially be based on all attendance for ALL home 'other' games played. Priority will then be given to those who have attended 80 per cent of games played followed by 70 per cent. If you have attended less than 70 per cent of all other games played you will not qualify for second priority.

Priority 3: 10/11 Season Card Holders who have consecutively held a Season Card.

Number of years consecutively held:
10 years>
>8 years +
>6 years +
>4 years +
>2 years +
>1 year+

Tickets will be allocated as outlined above. All ticket sales are subject to availability and are dependent on the number of tickets allocated to the Club.

Any remaining tickets will be distributed to those who have attended a number of home games during the 10/11 season.

Home Cup Scheme
The Home Cup Scheme is the ONLY way to secure your seat for home cup fixtures in all knock-out competitions. By joining, your credit/debit card is automatically charged and your cup ticket(s) sent in the post and registering is FREE OF CHARGE. If you cannot attend a cup game for whatever reason, simply send your tickets back to the ticket office at least 24 hours prior to the game for a full refund.

Please note that under the terms and conditions of the purchase of your Season Card, it may be necessary for the Club to displace Season Card Holders whose seats are required by the visiting team or competition officials during cup competition. In such instances, supporters will have the opportunity to take up an alternative seat within the stadium.

Assigning tickets

It is essential that supporters assign tickets correctly to individual client reference numbers when purchasing tickets for home or away fixtures in the league or cup next season.

This will ensure that all supporters are able to build up their booking history and are able to purchase tickets on a priority basis more easily. If you do not possess an existing Client Reference Number, you can create an account by booking online or asking the Ticket Office to create one for you over the phone.

Away scheme 10-11

Season card holders can beat the queues and be guaranteed a ticket for ALL 19 Premier League games played away from Villa Park.

A nominal £25 fee provides you with membership to the Away Scheme and gives you a convenient way to get hold of those "must-have" tickets for fantastic trips to Old Trafford, Anfield and the Emirates Stadium amongst other great venues during the 2010-11 season.

The Away Scheme is subject to availability and a maximum three-game cancellation policy and is available to a limited number of fans.

Bit confusing.

Surely they mean "would have been outstripped by demand from .."

So do we have more than 25,000 ST holders this season?

Why would 12000 tickets go to a foreign club ?

Who's going to be the first pessimistic sod to say it's all irrelevant because we won't get far enough in any cup competition this year?!

Bollocks, it's me!!!

This means that had we got to the Europe final we'd only have been given 12,000.

This is about the usual allocation so would cause a major problem if we got to Dublin next May.

What a nice problem to have though.

If they have to get so many corporate whores in the stadium that only 24,000 out of 50,000 can be given to the competing clubs why don't they hold it somewhere bigger? Crazy idea, I know. Croke Park holds 90,000 so why play in the poxy Aviva Stadium?

If the GAA won't let them play there, don't play it in Ireland.

I know it sucks but isn't there some policy that it has to be a UEFA four-star rated stadium? I believe Villa Park is one. And only five-star stadiums can hold CL finals.

There appears to be a £10 ticket offer on the avfc.co.uk website for the Everton game at the moment. Not sure if it's £10 tickets or £10 off

"A special £10 ticket web exclusive offer is available from the official Aston Villa Online Ticket Office. There are just 1,000 tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis."

Why do they charge a fee for this ?

Surely it costs the club less to administer a regular order than to deal with people phoning up adhoc.

Also, has anyone ever failed to get a ticket for an away game if they wanted one?

Arsenal - every season since they moved to the Emirates!  I still want to go to that ground and you just know that when I finally get there it'll be the one game we don't completely outplay them!!!

I don't think the £25 is an admin fee.  It's a charge for the benefit of being guaranteed tickets for every away game.

Sounds more complicated than the 'loyalty points' that the club never used anyway

Loads of times. Most recently Wolves away last year.
