I think we should be thanking and showing a bit more respect to the coke toking, short arsed, fat, little fucker.

Yep, you've got to hand it to him.

nailed it for me as well.

Sorry to sound a bit ignorant here, but has he ever managed anyone apart from Argentina?

If so it'd be the equivalent of Shearer turning up to manage us. We need someone with experience and genuine, preferably sensible tactical know-how. To be brutally honest, and this absolutely kills me to say but I'd rather have Big Sam managing us.

The lesser of two fat-bastard evils.

No chance. He'd turn this place into a circus. He's got no idea tactically either. He got by with Argentina purely because he is who, he is. But fact is, they struggled in qualifying, and then came unstuck in the first real challenge against Germany in the finals by looking tactically clueless.

Far too unhinged to make a decent manager. More likely is, Maradona will end up face down dead, coked to his fucking eyeballs in a gutter somewhere in the next year. Which would be a shame, even for a cheating arse like him.

We may as well get Gazza to manage us.

I want an exclusion zone set up around Villa Park and if Maradonna enters it, or is just milling about remotely near it, I want Villasubmariner to sink him.

Im frankly surprised this story is still running.  Just another example of them all picking up on one stupid quote from one stupid agent reproduced by one stupid journalist in one stupid local sunday rag.
It makes you think just how much garbage we are fed by the assorted outlets on all manner of things, be it either one persons unguarded comment or as is often the case a few choices words placed strategically to then allow it to gain legs and a momentum.
It was even covered on mondays Midlands Today.  With our license fee being used to send one of their faceless sports correspondents down to Brindley Place to interview a non english speaking south american restaurant owner on the matter, complete with translation dubbed over.

Maybe we should get Maradona in on a 12 month rolling contract, give him the funds to purchase his son in law, Sergio Aguero, on a 5 year contract. Then sack the fucker at Christmas!

I am more shocked that there are people who believe it is true!

I got 2 emails from friends saying "Congrats on Maradonna" that almost sent me running to the ol' google to make sure that this was NOT true.

The scary part is that these two friends A) believed this B) Thought it was a good thing!

(neither supports Villa)

It would be ridiculous on a practical level of course, but, perhaps its the eternal optimist in me that thinks the chance to have the most gifted footballer ever (*my opinion), to be in any capacity at Villa park would be pretty awesome.

As mentioned though, would prefer someone with a tad more tactical nouse!

This is just mischief making by his agent. Nothing to see here.

He should try to manage a small club in La Liga B in Spain before going to a big club like us.

But it is strange to have Diego Maradona and Aston Villa in a discussion topic.

Blame it on Steve Hodge.
