We have no manager, the list of favourites to take over do not fill me with confidence, we're about to lose our player of the season, we haven't addressed our goal scoring problem, we've got to cut the wage bill so the prospect of others leaving is very real, at the club it feels like we have the Tories austerity measures coming but I can't bloody wait for Saturday.
Take away the last 7 words and that could be a post by Greg Nash.
I can't believe you're losing faith in the owners, so i'll assume i'm having another acid flash back from my over use of it in 1988.

To be optimistic when there ar so many unknowns would be blind faith. I'm looking forward to the season, hoping to see a good managerial appointment and perhaps a couple of signings but at the moment it looks like a time for consolidation when I'd been hoping for more. Give it a week or two when there are a few more things in place and it might be different.

I see you mention 'hoping for more' Chris.
Your hope would have been worthless if we'd let Doh'Neill loose on the Milner money.
McGreedy and Keane for £18m?
Yuk!

Good actually, it's a fresh start. Not ideal timing I give you that, but I'm glad now that he's gone.

It all depends on who his replacement is.

excited. The last few days have really shown that the club wasn't been managed or run very well by MON- a manager who has always demanded total control. Players unhappy and wanting to leave, escalating costs of wages for small returns and a pig headed manager who was out of his depth. Even those who defended MON will struggle to defend his actions now it's all been blown wide open. He has been backed to the hilt by the board and for the money he spent, he hasn't really delivered. For £100m net , he's hardly left us with a blinding squad. I trust the board to make the right decision because during their time at Villa Park, I can't think of too many decisions they have got wrong.  But FFS not Alan Curbishley!!

I've gone from being shocked and disappointed to being like a small boy on Christmas Eve all in 24 hours.

at least it will be different.  It would have been oh so predictable if MON had remained.  Same 11-13 players played week in, week out.  Not bad away on the counter, disappointing at home.

I'm waiting to see what happens, the list of potential managers does not really excite me, but lets see who we pull out of the bag. When he left I was shocked but now thinking it seems right for hom to go - not sure why I feel like that. Pains me to say it but Andy Gray's comments were spot on, put a lot of it in place for me. I can't go on Sat as on a Stag do, but bloody wish I was. I am a Villa fan.

PS gregnash was mentioned on the last page, has he posted since MON jumped ship???? Nothing to stir up I suppose....

That just about sums it up for me too.  I don't think they'll make a daft decision personally.
