In other news, Villa fans get annoyed about cold weather in January.. it's the way Martin is, always has been and probably alwayswill be.

If it takes until deadline day to get the right players in, so be it. Judge him by his last transfer window and last summer he did the business.

We have until 31st August, but the season starts on the 14th Martin.

It will be like season when we was knocked out of europe before he made any signings.

You mean last season, when Delph and Beye were playing?

But Dunne, Collins and Warnock, the players he is lauding,  weren't.  Those three could have made a big difference if signed earlier.

The question, as always, is were they available earlier?  Dunne in particular was dependent on the Lescott deal.  Had he moved earlier would we have got lesser players and ended up not having as good a season as we did?

It's a lot to do with the selling club, Dunne for example only became available when they signed Lescott. West Ham were expecting to sell Upson so wouldn't have agreed a deal for Collins too.

What? Do you mean, it's not just up to us? Others have a say in matters.

But why do others just come in and take our players?

sarcasm off.

That's why Barry has been such a success at Anfield and Milner is looking the part at Man City.

Of all the players signed by other teams so far, how many would we actually want, in terms of realistic signings (i.e. Joe Cole would never have signed for Villa)? I've counted none.

Maybe MON doesn't think the players he does want are worth the money being asked for them and so doesn't want to pay over the odds sending us spiralling into debt.

Have you ever wondered what the clubs who we can just go and take the players from, of which there is many, think?

There are only a few teams that our best players would leave us for. If you was lower in the league or divisions, there'd be a lot more teams who would come in and just take players.

I know - which is why i wrote it. All clubs want to keep their best players. And many would like to have a replacement before selling.

I love coming on here to see what has offended people today.

The fact that a few lines taken out of context from a Daily Star journo can whip so many people into a frenzy is just laughable.
MON is paid to get players and get results, so far he has been successful on both counts.

Can't wait to see what we all get offended by tomorrow.

If you think he's been successful then you live in a balloon of mediocrity,

i love success players like marlon, emile, beye, routledge, maloney, shorey.

i love the results he got us against chelsea and man utd at wembley as well.

such a success!

Even worse is the sky news report that mon says villa will benefit from heskey not playing international football- he obviously still sees heskey as a key player- heaven help us!

One reason dunne came late is that distin was mons first choice but he turned us down for everton, fortunately as things turned out.
