I couldn't care less about Martin O'Neill

Isn't that like saying you couldn't care less about the Villa, being as it is MON's decisions and methods that directly affect the fortunes of the club?

Ok, I'll change my original quote.

I couldn't care less if O'Neill fucks off.

:)

If it's all down to market forces, having to sell first and things just not moving then fine. But O'Neill makes a habit/policy of very late signings and I just don't think it's a particularly bright thing to do.  In my view football is not much different to any other activity -  preparation prevents problems.  Surely it's better to be prepared for the new season as early as possible, sort out your signings early on and they have time to do a full pre-season with you, get to know their team mates, settle in, etc.  You also have a full strengh squad to choose from on day 1 rather than 3 or 4 games in.  It probably cost us against Rapid Vienna last season, not that O'Neill seems bothered about the Europa league anyway. That's not unfair critcism, that's common sense.

Do you want a strong willed manager or a bloody drip so the idiots amongst the rabble can push around? Jesus wept!

Naive statment that - DOL would have been crucified for saying it.

Not caring what people think would have been better phrased surely, more like ' we have until 31st August, I'm not being panicked into buying players, so my message to the fans is 'be patient', we're working on next season's squad and to providing the fans with a great season of football at Villa Park'.

It's occurred to me that the reason we supposedly have the likes of Habib Beye on daft money is at least in part due to O'Neill's habit of leaving things until the last minute.

Offer a player 20k p/w a few days before transfer deadline day and I'd imagine there's a good chance they'll wait and listen to other offers, hence there a gamble that we might not sign the target. Offer them 30 - 40k and they'll take your arm off.

I couldnt care less whether fans couldnt care less that MON couldnt care less.
He is paid to worry about getting results, not worry about what people think of his methods.
We win games he stays, we lose games he goes.
For me, thats the only thing that matters and in that respect he is in credit over the four years.

Played 190 Won 80 Drawn 60 Lost 50

Anti MON demonstration. 4/8/2010.

Angry.

Very small, annoying crowds gatherered outside the wrong house today to complain about the bitterly harsh language used by Martin O'Neill to savagely lay into a section of supporters.
They were only dispersed when the owners came out to present them with the right end of the stick.
Ringleaders then wandered down the street randomly shouting at cats and fouling themselves.

It will be like season when we was knocked out of europe before he made any signings.

You mean last season, when Delph and Beye were playing?

Brian Clough did'nt care whatever anyone else thought of his management and i'm sure the majority of other Premiership manager's don't either. It's called having a thick skin, which is a vital thing to have in today's game.
