Shame he's injured.

He's the much needed legs & energy that should be along side Petrov & Milner (or whoever) in the middle.

Looking forward to him making a full recovery.

Not sure what sort of interesting updates they can give. I think he's still got a lot of rehab to do before kicking a ball again.

Been a massive blow for Delph as this should of been a intergrating period for him. And lets face it looks like we really need the personal ............

9months is fairly standard for the type of injury he did, can be back in 6 if everything goes well (which is the case so far) but I doubt they'll risk him at his age, can easily end a career by rushing back after that kind of injury.

I'd say we'll hear talk of him being ready for the reserves by November.  All being well he'll be in or about the first team squad by Christmas at the latest.

Correct me if I am wrong .... I realise he is a promising youngster however, he hardly ripped up any trees in his games thus far.

From what I have seen he is likely to get booked in every game .. perhaps down to over enthuisiasm (due to his age or wishing to justify his price tag etc).

He may turn out to be the real deal but lets not consider him to be the answer to our problems in midfield - certainly not in the short term.

Not sure what games you've watched but he's been one of our best players in most of the games he's played, at 18.

As for getting booked regularly a quick scan through the early career records of many of the premier leagues best players will show similar records.  It comes from the players they're up against being a yard quicker (feet or head or both) than the kids they've dominated for the last few years, so there's a bit of a learning curve to not dive in so much.  Players like Scholes have never got past it but have had great careers anyway.

The reality is he's probably the best young player I've ever seen at Villa as he truly does already have everything he needs to be a top player.
