Love it. Is there any more old video coverage in colour (any older than FA Cup Final)  Ideally with Gerry Hitchens.

At the dinner "sporting celebrities from all over the Midlands listened with humility as Johnny Dixon all but broke down when he rose to respond for the players and talked quietly of their endeavours, their mutual trust and their response to his leadership."

This clip is the cup being shown off at something called the British Industries Fair at Castle Bromwich.

I am guessing this is at what is now the Jaguar plant.  As an aside you can see a sign near the start of the clip saying railway station, which of course there was one until Beeching wielded his axe.

Thanks Andy, never seen that before. One memory I have as a 10 year old was my father taking me to Villa Park to see the team on the steps outside the old Trinity Road stand displaying the cup. I remember being disappointed that although I could see them being interviewed I couldn't hear what they were saying. I've often wondered what happened to that footage. This was somewhat alleviated for me when my mother took me to the top floor of Lewis's and I got to meet all the team and get their autographs, except that is, for my hero Peter McParland, who was the only member of the team who wasn't there.

The Exhibition Buildings for the B.I. Fair were the opposite side (south east) of Spitfire roundabout to the Spitfire/Jaguar plant. Seemingly long since demolished.

Blimey,  That's incredible.  My dad was at that game, and how I wish he was still alive to watch this.

Mine too Buddy, mine too

He always used to go on about that shirt being the best - he had passed away before they brought it back out as a replica

Thanks for posting the video. I think that's probably the first time I've seen the second goal. I watched it as a ten year old and I remember Johnny Dixon hitting the crossbar, at which point I threw my hands up to my head shouting some expletive-like exclamation and when I looked again the ball was in the net.

I've waited a long time for that.

Hey?  You still haven't have you?  The video I am looking at is black and white, unless I've suddenly gone colour blind.
