I remember this being a live match wasnt it? I am pretty sure i caught this one on tv. One of the few times we actually wore this particular away kit as well because we wore our home shirts at Highbury, Anfield and Old Trafford that season. Any memories of that day?

Haven't looked, but wasn't Stuart Gray sent off for twatting someone right in front of the ref?

Clive Allen played for Man City! Don't remember that. Or Justin Fashanu come to that.

Why was Fashanu booed? Was it after he announced he was gay?

I don't think he was getting booed as they turned to cheers as he ran on. It must have been for the decision to take whoever he came on for, off.

I remember waking up in the morning of this match and deciding to go to this so jumped in the car, drove to Manchester, parked up and paid in on the door.

I miss those days.

This was indeed a rare 'Villa on TV on a Sunday' outing.  The home game against Citeh later on that season was on live too, but we won't dwell on that.  The thing I remember most about this game was that weird camera angle they kept switching to.

What the hell was going on with Spinksy's hair?

This was a regional live game from what I remember. Shown in the midlands and north west only.

We went to Blackpool on the Saturday, came back to Manchester and kipped on a mates floor at some Uni halls in lovely Rusholme.

Before the game we strolled into a pub to be greeted with vicious stares and total silence from the assembled Man City casuals. To this day it's the only time I've walked into a pub and not had a drink.

I forgot all about the red cards but I do remember drinking Greenhalls Bitter at the back of the Platt Lane Stand.

The dodgy camera work for the 1st goal sticks in the memory.

Terrible kit.

I went to this game, I remember the trip up there and pre-match as it hammered down with rain for hours and I wondered whether the game would even be on.
A good win with Stuart Gray and Trevor Morley being sent off for scruffle off the ball from what I recall.

I loved that kit. It had black socks but we hardly ever wore 'em.

We went that day, and it was at the start of the push for the title and a glimpse of what we were capable of.

Memorable for my mate losing his car keys after the second goal, and a bloke finding them about fifteen rows down, and parking at the end of one of those little Coronation St terrace rows and coming back to find someone had nicked the quarter-bumpers of my brothers Ford Capri Laser.
