Sullivan: Villa can't afford Parker.

Quote
West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has told Aston Villa to forget about signing midfielder Scott Parker ahead of the new season.
The Midlands club are reported to have made a tentative enquiry should they be forced to sign a new midfielder if Manchester City transfer target James Milner leaves Villa Park this summer.
However, Sullivan claims that Villa would not have enough financial muscle to persuade him to sell the 29-year-old England international.
Parker was one of few Hammers players who impressed during a difficult last season which almost ended in relegation from the Premier League.
"The situation with Parker has not changed," said Sullivan. "Villa will not have enough money to tempt us to sell Scott.
"He really is not for sale."

I now have a strong feeling we'll conclude a £5million deal for Parker.

Can't think why.

So he is not for sale, and we can't afford him anyway, so why is old gherkin face banging on about it again? I think they will sell, however I am not sure that he will be worth what they want.

To be fair all he's saying is that it'll cost the type of money that would embarrass Man City for them to sell parker.

sounds like someone trying to set up an auction

end of last season they were broke, now they have brought a few so they have to ship some out but not before they fooled people into buying season tickets.

Cor, what a canny player in the transfer market he is, eh? Now we're bound to offer £50m for Parker just to prove a point, thereby unwittingly falling for Sullivan's crafty ruse!!!

Sounds like we made an enquiry a while back and haven't been in contact since. Sullivan sounds a bit desperate.
