This might have been posted somewhere else but it's a rare case of common sense prevailing...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10709417

Why does this sort of thing have to go to the ASA?!  They should publicly name and shame the complainants to stuff like this so that they can be ridiculed for wasting everyone's time!!!

I was thinking of posting something about this.

Over a 1000 complaints. Just shows that some people have too much time on their hands and very boring lives.

Good to see that the advert hasn't had to be withdrawn.

Well it's less complaint worthy than Carlton Palmer in a bath.

Or indeed the Villa midfield.

People love being offended on behalf of others.

My cousin is one of the current members of the england blind football squad and he thinks it's fantastic for the exposure they've gotten from it, just another case of people making complaints because they've got nothing better to do with their time.

It's probably the Daily Mail mob, the same bunch that complained about BrassEye before it was even broadcast.

As an advert, if they got it wrong they would suffer from a lack of custom following it.  Why bother complaining as opposed to let them keep showing it and suffer financially, if you thought it was wrong?

Personally I thought it was very funny.

Not offensive but incredibly stupid. Borrowed from the old joke which does work well.
My first thoughts were, if they were blind why would they be wearing eye masks?
Idiots!

Blind people can't watch the advert anyway, what's the problem?

Ad watched by c 20 million and 1,000 complaints. No issue in my book.

Blind football is also played by the partially sighted, they wear masks so everyone is disadvantaged to exactly the same extent.
