This is good news. What's the difference between this siuation and the Villa fans who were locked in a cage for the afternoon at Nottingham station?

Locked in a pub miss a 5-0 loss and given £2k each sounds like a good afternoon to me !!!

On a more serious note good to see that the police have been brought to book on what is clearly a bad operation on their part

Love this statement:

Quote
"At the time the use of the powers was new and we have since taken steps to improve our understanding of the legislation to try to prevent this from happening again; by dealing with the cases within legal services, we made a saving on handling fees of over £16,000."

So you've paid out nearly £200K thanks to the police being heavy handed, but you "saved" £16K?  With that sort of efficiency, the deficit will soon be gone.

Difference between then and now is that the police couldn't give a shit about us back in 1990, and importantly neither did the law, or enforcement agencies.

Three coach loads of fans versus Sheffield Wednesday in August 1991 (BFR's first game as manager) also. Not allowed off the coaches before kick-off and driven back to Brum without a single stop.

Nottingham Station, I was there that day.

Bloody hot, no water, people with tickets not allowed out, police dogs, abuse from Police, people passing out, escape commity. then a trip back to brum. Not to mention the train broke down on the way.

Be nice to have got a hand out for that trip!

I love the way they say they were "acting on intelligence".  Shame they find it so difficult to act with intelligence.
