All the Villa lads are good at football in their own way, but who do you think is the best player in the team? Who do you think should be captain next season?

He'd have to be here next season to be Captain.

Well I think he will stay, do you think he will go then?

The best player should not necessarily be captain.

He is our best player and, yes, if he's here next season then we could do worse than make him captain.

But it would mean stripping Stan of that role and I cant see MON doing it.

Yes because Martin has proved that last season

I assume 'he' is Milner? He'd be behind Collins, Dunne, etc in the queue for captain.

I'd imagine Dunne to be next in the pecking order, but I've heard a few mention he's quite quiet.

Heskey should be captain. He should also take penalties, free kicks, throw ins, goal kicks etc..

Who's 'he'?

I presume it was deleted after the initial thread was edited.

The initial post referred to Milner.

Hmmm. I wouldn't say he's captain material just yet, although will be at some point for someone.

As said previously, i'd probably go for Dunne.

If Capello sticks around I reckon Milner is long term England captain, I think the only one who'd contest that is Rooney.

I believe there is no reason to strip Petrov.

But the next captain for me is Dunne.

I though Stan did a good job as Captain last season..can't see Martin changing that for as long as Stan stays
