You don't need to back down to a load of Internet nerds telling you he is not a legend if he is to you then he is.

I'm sure he is to many Villa fans.

Lets not forget some posters did not have the pleasure of seeing every Villa player play since the 1800's !!!!

Maybe i shuold grow a pair in future ha ha. im old enough to remember 82 etc just that not many players give back to the fans and maybe that should be as important as being a good player - which he was, a great servant.[/quote]

A legend during a difficult period for the club (2002 through to 2006).

He was a great player but the word legend is thrown about a lot, he's done alot for the club and the fans. I hope to see him back one day in some way

So who from the previous decade would come close to legend status if Mellberg doesn't?

So Mellberg isn't a legend because he wasn't as good a player as some people think he was, yet Ian Taylor is a legend?

That pic gives me goosebumps! Great memories. I remember him being substituted before the end of the match at Boro when we won 4-0 in that awful last O'Leary season and him doing a similar fist-pumping salute to the fans. A legend in my eyes and a better right back than Cuellar (just)
