Olympiakos. And he was at Juventus, not Milan.

Last I heard he had converted that beard into an Argentinian-style ranch.

I am from Greece and watched Olof. Mellberg had a very mediocre season with Olympiakos.
Olympiakos finished 5th, worst position that last 20 years.

He was voted Player of The Season at Olympiakos, so he can't have been that bad.

Indeed. He was voted MVP for Olympiakos. But we are talking about a team that have won 12 titles the last 14 years. And they finished 5th. Maybe the team's overall bad performance didn't help him seem that good.

Maybe he comes back to Villa Park at Europa League

We could do with a back up center-back who plays right-back, just in case our other....never mind.

Mellberg aint no Villa legend. If we keep using that word to describe half decent footballers who played for us it will soon lose it's impact. Real Villa legends are the likes of Mortimer and McGrath and co, and not Mellberg.

Quite right.  A player the fans could relate to due to his effort and interaction with the crowd, but not a legend through his ability on the pitch.  Real Villa legends are few and far between but the two you quoted are and always will be.

Agree, but its still nice to see some players appreciate the paying fans in a positive fashion!
