Villa apparently 'begged' the bestest striker in the World ("much better than ex-Villa striker Peter Crouch say most independent observers"...quote C. Twattum) to not sign for the Sooooper Blooose and sign for us.
But he signed for them and the balance of power is shifting.
I'm cacking myself Twats.
Sorry for this long link, don't know how to do it shorter.

Since when could you imagine MON allowing a player to be spoken to without him being around.
Some flunkey trying to look good saying "please don't sign until you have spoken to Martin"
Can't see that somehow

Irrespective of what Tattum says the most worrying thing is that we cannot do any business unless MON has the hands on approach

Do we think in the modern game all managers operate like this still?

Does this hinder us in the market MON having total control

I think we may know the answer

All valid points, were this not made up tosh by his agent to big up the player, which the Meaning Evil latch onto to big up the Dogshite.

They almost had me aswell until "Yeah, and Man City wanted to sign me too!"

Yep, Man City and Villa were interested in Zigic and he chose Blose....

Don't worry about what Colin Tattum says, I used to work with the C**t and he wouldnt know the truth if it bit him on the arse. He's your typical bitter jealous Bluenose, he can't even mention the words Aston Villa without seething.

I overheard some pissed-up bellend in a pub toilet in town last weekend droning on about how the "balance of power in the city" was shifting.  I was shitting myself for the rest of the night, worrying that they might manage to take a point off us next season.

If we were after him, I'm sure MON would have returned from holiday to conduct talks. Its just a story from a f*ckwitted bluenose trying to make out that they beat us to the transfer.

It it was true, then they're welcome to him and he'll fit in well because he must be the thickest twat in Europe to choose them, now, in May, with two clubs with European football next season interested, one of those the richest club in the world, and the other having just waved off Marlon Harewood with the best part of £5m in his pocket.

Obviously though, it's not true, and anyone with half a brain could see that. Which brings us back to Twattum.

The so called 'balance of power' shift is soooooooooooooooo boring.

Not even worth getting concerned about.

"claret and blue tinted glasses off for a minute..."

They have signed a quality young (mid 20s is young) england keeper and a very good international giant who was rumoured to be on our wanted list.

We have signed ....... no one?

I know there is a long way to go and Villa nearly alway wait until the last minute to buy anone but you can sort of see why they Meaning Evil are having their little wank fest at the moment.

Chokes me to say it, but 2 good signings for the shite.

I agree - two good signings for THEM.

Zigic would be an improvement on Heskey, but not dislodge either Gabby or Carew from the starting line up, which is what we need.  Green isn't better then Big Brad, so pointless signings for us unless we were shifting Guzan out on loan, which wouldn't make sense as he's leaving Man Utd for first team football.

I can see their benefit to Blues, but can barely extrapolate any if we had signed them.

And that IS with Claret & Blue glasses off!

Zigic will be a great signing. Foster is a good young keeper, but so is Guzan. So no loss there.

Is Guzan ?

So far McCleish's performance at Blues has been exceptional with next to no spend, really, he's achieved things there that had O'Neill done similar here, this site would be full of his praise.

Its far too early in the window, especially by O'Neill's standards to do too deep a comparison but so far McCleish and other managers have started the race well, while O'Neill amongst others doesn't appear to have settled into the blocks.

Personally I rate Foster over Guzan (and Friedel has 1 season left in him) and Zigic on par with Carew.

This is totally unproven and purely my opinion as Zigic has never played in England, although I think it would suit him, and neither Guzan or Foster have had an extended run last season.

I would have been fairly happy, not ecstatic, to have signed either.
