May I point out the mighty Derbyshire have just  destroyed Surrey at their place - our first win there since 1966.  Chris Rogers is has also become our first player to hit a double & single hundred in both innings.

I think we're in for a good year.

I hope Derbyshire have a good year, they've been shite for years. Plus I don't like Surrey... even though their stadium played an important part in Villa history.

My nearest Worcs game this season is v Surrey at Whitgift School next week. I hope we can beat Surrey as convincingly as Derbyshire did, especially as they poached our best player, Davies.

Gloucestershire get their season under way this week but still look short on batting.

I realise that most of you are Bears supporters, but for a minority of us the Pears have brightened the weekend a little: our first Championship win since 2008 and, for a day, top of the table.

Im with you Frank, up the mighty Pears. Absolutley delighted with our win on Sunday(if slightly surprised). After the exodus of players during the winter i was a bit fearful about our prospects but we have made a promising start. Really looking forward to when Shakib, the Bangladesh skipper arrives. He should be a really good acquisition for us and was the star player for in the test series. We have lacked a quality spinner for a few years now, so he could be the answer, as well as being a useful batsmen.

We seem to found an opener who is worse than Westwood.  Happy days!

Varun Chopra?

Yes, I'm guessing that little experiment isn't going to last much longer!

Lara to Surrey?

If he is looking for a 20/20 payday we should be busting a gut to get him at Edgbaston. If nothing else it would get more bums on seats.

He's past it Sub. If I remember he struggled in the 2007 WC.

Our innings going identically to theirs. Four early wickets then a middle order recovery.
