MID: Jamie O'Hara
FWD: Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
FWD: Nicklas Bendtner

You say realistic, but your list is  mainly fantasy football, Huntelaar and Bedtner would not give up Champions League football to come to us, you also forget that Huntelaar plays in a foreign League and is therfore out of bounds to MON.

Hart will probably go back to Man City and O'Hara? - No thanks.

I've been amazed at some of the names mentioned on here, you'd better start aiming your sights a little lower as you're in dreamland if you think we'll be signing the likes of Joe Cole.

The transfer budget will not be that high.

I heard from a good scource that we had an offer accepted for Joe Cole prior to his injury, and that he would have come to us. I do a lot of work for the Chelsea players, and heard from more than one of them that it could have happened. However, situations change, and I can only see him going abroad now if he leaves Chelsea!

In the middle, I think either Ireland or Michael Johnson (I hear today that he has a good head on his shoulders ) are gettable and would improve the squad.

Van der Vaart has played a bit this season so I'm not sure he's as available as he was, but you never know what Mardrid will do next.

Up front, I'd still like to see us go for Andre Pierre Gignac.  Not having the greatest season for Toulouse but a solid player.  I still wonder if Keane would be worth a punt too.

This fella has the right idea, you've got to aim a bit higher than Scott Parker and Darren Bent...

He's just nicked your post and swapped the name Thierry Henry for Wayne Rooney! ;)

I still hold the opinion that Mikel Arteta & Darren Bent are the creative midfielder & 15-goals-a-season striker we're looking for.

That would be fantastic. Mikel Arteta is the player Petrov wants to be but ultimately is nowhere near.

Macanuff from Reading.
When I've seen this lad play he's excellent.
I reckon he would make the step up to the prem.

Unlikely.

He's 28 now and has spent his footballing career with the likes of Wimbledon, West Ham, Cardiff City, Crystal Palace, Watford and Reading.

Joe Cole.  Don't think we'd get him without finishing 4th, but would offer that creative player we're after AND provide cover/competition for the wings.  Having any 3 out of 4 of him, Milner, Ash and Downing (or all 4 if we liked?) would be excellent.

Micah Richards.  Always rated him and would give a solid fullback with attacking ability on both sides.  We could then sell Beye, play Carlos at CB and allow Luke Young to be our utility cover for both sides.

After that, I think we need to get better in for Petrov and Heskey/Carew, with them staying as back up.  Can't really see 'gettable' targets in this country that are good enough, but wouldn't argue with O'Hara and Keane.  Abroad, I'd like Love and Witsel from Standard Liege.

Ireland seems a realistic option

Who said Carlton Cole?  We've already got 4 better forwards than him.

Unless he can play at right back?

It all depends where we finish.  If it's outside the top 4, then we'll struggle to attract the sort of players we've been coveting for the past couple of seasons.

Totally agree.

It doesn't mean we can't still get some good ones in, but we'd be looking at the level of Downing/Carew instead of Cole/Love, IMO.

O'Hara has really surprised me. I knew he was half decent, but he's really stood out in a shocker of a Pompey side. That might not be that difficult I guess.

I'd go with

Jamie O'Hara
Artem Milevskiy
Miguel Veloso

The only thing with Ireland would be his wages.  Isn't he on £80k a week or something ridiculous at City?

I agree though, he's a player I'd like to see at Villa, although I cannot see it unfortunately.

Hart has already agreed to stay at the Rags next season on loan.
