Died today after a short battle with cancer, aged 49. A well-known face on many away days, Gary hailed from South Birmingham and used to drink in the Gladiator, Druids Heath. He was a bit of an 'alternative' supporter, and once had his ear cut off in a fight. He had great fun with the false ones though (of which he had two of differing shades so they would match his skin when he had a suntan), and his drinking pals would often be shocked to find an ear at the bottom of their glass. Great laugh and a mountain of a man who will be sadly missed.

Look out for a funeral with a huge turnout soon.

RIP Reidy.

Percy - Gary is old drinking partner of mine - I used to mess around with him and the likes of Willie Anderson and others.

We all got locked up once on the way to Ipswich - one of us graced the cell that originally housed the Cambridge rapist !!

Sad news - I hope to make the funeral if I can get time off.

Only 48 I believe.

Might see you tomorrow.

Cheers

Yes, see you tomorrow Clive. Will send a pm and post arrangements on here when they are made. There might be a fundraising event too, as Gary didn't have life insurance apparently.

I believe the funeral is 2.30pm on Monday 29th at Hall Green Crem - afterwards at Kings Norton Golf Club I think.

I can`t make it as I have to take two days off this week to care for VCTM jnr who has to undergo an op on Thursday - Only 7 weeks into my new job and I doubt they will be that considerate.

If you go please send my condolences to the family and friends.
