R.I.P. The bravery of our servicemen (and women) should be appreciated by everyone. They have qualities that most of us can only dream of.

Seconded.

R.I.P.

Have to agree

RIP Joe, too young by far. Thanks for fighting for us all - your country.

So so sad seeing those hearses bringing the young lads home. Their braveness in stark contrast to the Donkeys that sent them there.

Do we ever learn?

Fella I know knew him and all his mates went down to see the coffin be repatriated, in the drink back at Castle Brom his dad was apparently made up that his sacrifice had been recognised by the Villa. Small comfort.

Edit: Of course you are quite right.

Probably not the place for this but will it take the politicians and royals sons to be slaughtered before our lads get properly eqipuiped to do the job we have sent them to do?

No offence but can I respectfully request that this is done on another thread? I feel this is not the place for an argument on the politics of war.

Cheers.

There were some touching tributes from those that knew him well.

He really was a hero, dying whilst trying to save his friend and his death really does put everything into perspective.

He was too young to die, and this will probably not sound how I mean it to, but to know someone so young risked and lost his life trying to help someone else, says a lot for a generation that on occasion is habitually criticised by some of us older ones.
