The Penguins have been quoted as favourites for next year!

Their odds with a healthy Sid versus an unhealthy Sid must be very different.

Don't count on it.  Sidney Crosby is probably going to hurt his vagina and be out half the year again...

The NHL lockout has begun and players have started signing for teams in Europe

It'll be interesting to see if any NHL'ers end up playing in the UK this time around.

I think they should go to the UK but I will be surprised if they do.

It's crazy. The only people that will lose out is the fans. We will have to pay more for the tickets to cover the owners smaller profit margin. Everyone is taking way to much out of it. The only people that can make a difference our fans by not going. but who is going to do that? Most of the hockey tickets in Vancouver are paid for by corporations. They won't stop giving out freebies for business.

Anyone have any thoughts about this season?
Anyone have any thoughts about anything at all?

I read this the other day, and thought it was great.  From Grantland.  It's about players going to/staying in Russia, and how hard the NHL transition is for young players, but from a personal standpoint, not a physical/game standpoint

Yep, I read that article as well Paul (Grantland is a great site).

As for the coming season, I must admit that my interest in hockey has dropped in recent years. I no longer make the 100 mile round trip to watch the Cardiff Devils play and the NHL is now only available on a non-HD channel that requires an extra subscription.

We do however get AHL games in HD as part of the standard ESPN add-on to Sky

Pittsburgh, Boston, LA Kings or Rangers have a chance I think but what do I know?

Disgruntled goalie scores deliberate own goal, then flips his coach the bird as he skates off the ice

I say with a little pride that I am glad I don't know much about Hockey, it is on for far too long and is only interesting in the play offs.
