Game 5 Recap:

Penguins get 3 powerplays in OT FFS - hmmm, I wonder which team Gary Bettman has his money on....especially since the new darling of the league, Alexander Ovechkin, and his side were humiliated by the lowly working class, superstar-less Philadelphia Flyers......

I really don't understand the Crosby being 'pampered' part.  He's just playing the game - the circus around him is not his doing.

Congratulations to the Detroit Red Wings.

and regardless of who you supported, don't you just love the playoff beards?

Agreed. It has been like watching a team of Olof Melberg's zapping around the ice.

Game 5 was a belter. I thought last night was a bit of an anti-climax by comparison.

Anyhoo, well done Redwings (says me through clenched teeth, being a fan of the abysmal L.A. Kings ](*,) )

Yet another reason to hate Tiger Woods:

"The PGA official thought he had the perfect softball question to throw at Tiger Woods to kick off a media teleconference with the world's No. 1-ranked player yesterday.

"Detroit or Pittsburgh?" Julius Mason asked of Woods during a session to promote the 90th PGA Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

"I don't really care," Woods replied. "I don't think anybody really watches hockey any more, do they?""

Tee hee! A team named after what you get for shagging a bird who's on the blob. Tee hee!

Not been near a rink since, not there is anything in Birmingham anyway.

Coventry's not that far away.

An hour plus by bus, even by using the train  I wouldn't get home till after midnight.

The game off ice hockey is ok, but I've noone to support. Any ideas? I think I will pick a Canadian team, but which one?

How about a former Canadian team The Winnipeg Jets now known as the Phoenix Coyotes.
Coached by The Great One - Wayne Gretzky.

He's the only ice hockey player I have heard of! But I don't really agree with relocation of franchises so they're out sorry! Quite like the name Coyotes though.... do they have a local derby against the Phoenix Roadrunners?

I'd recommend the Toronto Maple Leafs - great tradition and history

They seem a bit too good to me, a bit like supporting Man Ure or Thieverpool. Plus the correct plural of leaf is 'leaves'.

I think I will support the Edmonton Oilers... anyone like/hate them?

You have got to love the support the Oilers get. During the playoffs a couple of years ago Rexall Place was really rocking. They had fantastic home support and it really came across on the tv coverage.
It wasn't the artificial pumped in crap they try and pass off for atmosphere at a lot of arenas out here.
