The first couple of games they tend to try out a few fringe players to see if they're good enough. The final game they usually rest most of the elite players so that they're fully fit for the first week of the proper season. The third preseason game, ie the next one, is when you are most likely to see the first choice stars. Even then, probably for only half a game maximum.

I'd expect the Bears (and Green Bay) to be especially reluctant to play starters as their season starts before everybody else, on a Thursday night (early Friday morning our time).

It's not the same for everyone and some seem to take preseason more seriously than others. I rember during the 2000s the Colts would seem to always lose all four preseason games then be Super Bowl contenders, while others look great in the friendlies then do fuck all when it all starts.

Long story short: nobody really cares about preseason and it's a travesty that season ticket holders are forced to pay to attend said games.

Bears didn't play any starters on Offence of Defence. Still a bit of a hammering, as a lot of their starters didn't play.

Never mind any of that nonsense. How did our kicker(s) get on? I'll settle for losing all four preseason games if we unearth someone who never misses a field goal.

An absolute shocker for the Colts as Andrew Luck retires.

Shame about Luck, seemed like a good guy.

Brissett looks more than capable. If Colts carry on from Last year, they don't need a world beater at QB.

Does anyone know why was he heckled by the colts fans after the announcement? Seems very odd.

Because those fans were arseholes who care more about their team than the health of the players

I remember when it was a toss up who would finish with the first draft pick and fans of various teams were turning up with "Suck for Luck" banners.
Didn't he have major reconstructive surgery on his throwing shoulder a few years back?

Wouldn't be nervous if I was you. Packers were a fucking shambles last season and nothing they've done in preseason suggests they will be any better.

It will all be on Rodgers again.
