So the Miami Hurricanes won last week, which makes me happy, seeing as I expect my Eagles to suck this year...

That's fantastic news! It gets even better, ESPN have got Monday Night Football... and now this. Having 5 live NFL games in a week for me to watch is awesome. My dad got me into NFL when he watched NFL on Channel 4 back in the 80's... his favourite player was William 'the fridge' Perry, gigantic linebacker for 1985 superbowl winning Chicago Bears.

There's going to be a few late nights on Sunday for me from now on... October 24, October 31, November 14, November 28, December 5 and December 19 will be going into my diary for sure.

[pedantic head on]The Fridge was a defensive lineman and sometime running back, rather than a linebacker[/pedantic head on]

Altogether now........... "Football's coming home " !!

NFL returns to Channel 4

Gary Imlach is presenting with Mike Carlson. I guess that Nicky Horne and John Smith weren't available.

lol, sorry, no... I'm a Ravens fan (more casual than diehard haha), but don't mind the Bears because they're one of the more likeable teams in the NFL.

I watched a great programme on ESPN here in NY last night about the pre season & training squad at the Jets.

How they train in pre season & the pre season games, how they get from 75 down to 53 IIRC, ruthless!

That'll be "Hard Knocks". From what I've heard on US radio its been a great series. I haven't seen it advertised yet over her on ESPNAmerica

lol, poor Tom Brady, I bet the 'injury' didn't hurt as much when he pretends to be sacked j/k.

I just about stayed awake to watch the season opener (although it's kind of messed up my bodyclock), Saints looked good, picked up from where they left off it seems with perhaps a noticable better defence. Vikings never had any fluidity to their passing game with Favre, the Saints defence were very quick and alert. It was a victory I expected for New Orleans, however I did expect it to be a higher scoring game.

Bear Down, Chicago Bears!

Go Irish! Wake up those echoes! I hope Touchdown Jesus sees a lot of action tomorrow.

I hate Notre Dame.

Its not me being my normal anti-religious self because I tend to support Boston College. However, there's just something about ND that makes me dislike them intensely.
