Title: My Brother Martin (Match) Dunne
Post by: Brend'Watkins on May 03, 2019, 02:36:51 PM
Passed away last night aged 63. He was mainly responsible for me being a Villa fan, as a kid you followed your elders lead. During our mid to late 1970s he was also responsible for organising away coaches to some of my most memorable games...the two Brian Little goals at Everton for instance. He was much loved by all who knew him and I’m sure he’ll be watching from above and helping us through the play offs all the way.

Very sad to hear of your loss. I have always told my son that when I go just think of me smiling when the Villa win.

Rob (Kennedy) told me about Match on Friday. My condolences to all the Dunne family.

I remember all the away coach trips from the Cross Keys in Erdington and was on all 3 for the extended 1977 League Cup final against Everton. Also remember trips to Great Yarmouth following Norwich away and Morecambe after Everton away. Happy days!!

Martin's funeral was last Friday. What a turn out for Martin to celebrate his life. Made all the more special by us getting promoted.  He would have been there. I'm sure he was looking down on us.
