Title: March 7 2015
Post by: Chico Hamilton III on March 07, 2019, 09:58:02 AM
Quarter final win over the Albion.

I recall getting very drunk, going on the pitch with a certain other H&V poster and staggering onto the London train where Kingthing spotted Jonas Olsson on the train and giving him some merciless stick. I might have dreamt it but i think the train even stopped for a few minutes in full view of the Wembley arch.

Mea culpa, I was on n the pitch with Chico. I was driving, so was sober, though I had a pint in the Sacred Heart before the game. Staunton was in there too. These days I don't touch a drop if I'm driving.

A wonderful game, fantastic atmosphere, and the ground was really rocking for a while. I enjoyed that victory and the Liverpool semi win more than most games in the past decade.

A return to the dark days according to the BBC.

Or absolute scenes as I believe the kids call it.

With it being a late kick off on a Saturday and a big game at that, it was bound to get messy.  I  still remember seeing the guy with the prick on his head in the Addies and watching him run on from the Witton Lane when we scored.

To be fair Albion missed a couple of relatively easy chances before we scored but once we got our noses in front there was no stopping.  It was good times at the Villa before the storm as they would call it.

A great time was had by all. Except the idiot who was running The Bartons at the time who probably cost the pub thousands by closing it early because people were enjoying themselves. He promptly got the boot.

Is that the fella who’s just opened a craft beer shop in Boldmere ? Not my part of town but I’ve heard about it.

It'll be even sweeter when we beat them in the play-off final and I trust you'll have more than one beer!

I woke up at some stupid o’clock as I was in Seoul that week and game was on live on TV in the room. Started watching it but nerves started jingling as West Brom created some early chances but some how we kept it 0-0 at HT. Second half was better and about 10 minutes after Delph has scored I couldn’t bear watching and got dressed and went for a walk. I paced around the hotel lobby with their night staff looking at me suspiciously. Looked at the clock and it was 3.45am. Went back to my room and as I entered  Sinclair popped in for the second. Absolute joy.

Remember the kicking we took of our own local radio station for a week after.  Even so.e of our own fans demanding we should be kicked out.
