Going for 13/15 points and sitting comfortably in the top 6 by the time we play Reading (A).
-
I genuinely think 15 out of 15. These are almost perfect fixtures coming up.
-
15 points, 19 goals for, 9 against.
-
15 points, 10 goals, 5 against.
-
We'll score more than 10 and concede more than 5 I reckon. I'll go for 14 goals scored and 8 against. I'd like to see us give TSM2 a pasting at Villa Park.

Me too. I'd walk a mile and a bit to .......
-
15 points.
-
15 points, +10GD. Shaky start at Preston, bit like today, but proper on it after that.
-
15 points
-
18 out of the next six !!,,, 15 for 7 against
-
The only one I’m worried about is QPR. They are getting on for being the form team of the division. I’m probably being paranoid but still wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat about the post dogheads game last year.!

QPR deserve a fucking kicking. We outplayed them start to finish at their place and found a way to lose.
-
I hope so - I’ll be there in the lower Trinity.
-
All winnable. Must go on 7-10 wining run to have any hope of top 2.
-
bit worried about the QPR game, often cause an upset at V.P
-
Should beat Preston, like last season they have 5-6 regulars missing v us. Lost at home to Hull today.
Wigan looked decent earlier this season but been in dreadful form for a few months. Know someone who lives in Newton-Le-Willows so will be popping up to that one. Has to be a game to win if we want to do anything this season.
Hull home. Beat them up there under SB....will also weaken them by recalling Elphick.
QPR is a bit of a danger one for me. Can see it being a draw although they're the last opposition we should underestimate after last season.
Ipswich will probably be moved as think we'll beat Swansea cup even with changes.
13/15.
-
Win all 5
Tend to agree the Qpr game looks the banana skin
If we can win all 5 we should be well placed in the play offs and perhaps within touching distance of automatics after all. But that depends on others dipping of course
-
I thought you were on about me then!
-
Ah Ads I just want the GD prediction from you (wink).
-
We always seem to play Preston when theyve loads of injuries and we still struggle to beat them (Deepdale apart last season).
With Grealish I'd be confident of winning all of these with maybe one draw/defeat. Without him, it's just too hard to say as we are struggling to impose a style of play in his absence thus far.
-
Not a prayer of 15/15 I’ll donate £100 to this site if this comes in. More like 11/15
-
Dec 29th 15:00 A Preston - 2-0 W
Jan 1st 15:00 H QPR - 3-1 W
Jan 12th 15:00 A Wigan - 2-0 W
Jan 19th 15:00 H Hull City - 3-0 W
Jan 26th 15:00 H Ipswich Town - 4-0 W 15 pts
-
As the song went, five will make you get up...
-
Reading away after these 5 games as well. 18 out of 18?
-
They're all winnable. Each may pose a problem in some way, QPR for example are a bit of a bogey side, but play that game at Loftus Road 100 times and their defence cracks 90 times out the 100.
We need a big winning streak to cement us into the Play Offs. With new additions we may have solved a crisis or two and be stronger.
Players returning to fitness and with the fire power we have, I think we could be repeating what happened last year at this time.
-
Agree with most that 15 Pts should be won but we really remains to be seen what starting 11 are picked / available to get them ......that’s my fear with lack of freshness , injuries etc
-
I can't see why we can't win all of those games and get maximum points so I reckon 15 points.
-
That's the festive spirit! No, really, it is *hic*
-
By the Qpr game, unless we've got the likes of lansbury or ohare ready to step in, I reckon tiredness could be a factor

Even something like 11 points would get us into top 6 as likes of Boro and Derby are losing form now and others are playing each other.
15 only really needed if catching Norwich/WBA is seen as realistic prospect.
-
The contenders for promotion -Top 11 teams - Fixture matches playing against each other in next 5 weeks.
When villa play Preston
Norwich V Derby
When villa play QPR New year's day
Derby v Middlesbrough
Nottm Forest v Leeds
When villa play Wigan away
Leeds v Derby
Birmingham V Middlesbrough
Sheff Utd v QPR
West Brom v Norwich
When villa play Hull home
Norwich v Birmingham
Stoke v Leeds
When villa play Ipswich
Norwich v Sheff Utd
QPR v West Brom

The way those fixtures are beating Preston and QPR could definitely see us climb into play offs
Derby and Boro are 39 points and are meeting on New year's day !
Derby next 2 matches are Norwich and Boro.
Boro next 2 matches are Ipswich Home and Derby away

I admire your optimism but us conceding 1 goal in 5 games isn't gonna happen.
-
Didn't realise Derby had such a nightmare run. They'll certainly be below us in next few weeks.
Boro are awful but I'd like them to stay in the play off mix as we always do well against them.
-
Hmmmmm.........not a great start.
-
I allways get nervous when people start writing off the opposition and predicting winning streaks,.
-
Not feeling confident about Qpr at all
-
Not feeling confident about Qpr at all
Will be a tricky game. DS really needs to freshen up the 11 as we were so lacklustre out there, starts for Elphick, BB and Adomah. Move Bree to RB.
-
QPR bore draw today against Reading at home. Doubt they're too confident either.
-
QPR bore draw today against Reading at home. Doubt they're too confident either.
Compared to where they were in August they will be. Won at Forest for first time ever in their last away game.
-
QPR have 10 points out of 12 conceding 1 goal, they're probably a more confident side than us right now.
-
I don't know Qpr very well. But I think they're essentially organised youthful and energetic
I really could see them beating us

*shrugs*
They'll come and sit deep and knock it long. I don't know (wait for it) whether we will beat them (its coming) but I'll be fucked if I start worrying about QPR comimg toVilla Park (here it is). We'll have plumbed new depths when I do.
-
Scars of last season really for me. In fairness even if we'd won 3-0 today QPR just seems a tricky opponent in our present state in a way Wigan and Ipswich in next few weeks shouldn't.
-
Norwich got WBA, Leeds and Sheffield United in their next five so we really need to be cutting down the 11 point gap to them to 5-6 by the time February arrives.
-
Stripeys lost Rodriguez for next 3 games. Dwight Gayle injured so back to Robson-Kanu upfront.
-
I’m sticking with 13 points. We are going to have some rocky performances. You cannot just drop in players into a system that he wants that hasn’t previously been in place. And the injuries have made it twice as hard.
Oh and Steve Bruce is a complete wanker

But, you had us beating PNE and drawing against Wigan? So, surely, that's now 11 points?

We’ll do Wigan. I’m one of the fickle fans that wanker David O’Leary spoke of.
-
A really you're not, I am.
And as I've said before, we weren't walking out at half time, we were going to queue at the food/drink kiosk which was in the right hand side. And Adams Park stunk of shit that night too.
-
So all of a sudden all those "winnable games" have become "drawable ones" :(
It ain't happening this season is it?
-
This club sometimes....
In other news Norwich and WBA haven't won for 3 games each. West Brom never seem to win when Dwight Gayle is injured.
Sheffield United the club taking full advantage of their stumbling.

and Hull smash six !!!!!
-
Hull will do us on our present form - they are dark horses I think for the top six because they have what we don't - momentum.
-

West Brom never seem to win when Gayle misses games injured, he is as crucial to them as Grealish is to us.

Stab in the dark but my prediction for that would be entertaining 2-2!!
We really need to be beating Wigan and Ipswich.

This was match weekend to gain something due to 'rivals' fixtures.
Hull city and Bristol city have put themselves in the mix !
Really hoped for more and feel the next 2 home matches hull and Ipswich the whole 6 points needed even more so

The thread hasn’t aged well. Like a very stinky piece of cheese.
-
These threads are always the same. You might as well call it:
"Let's Jinx The Villa".

"Never, in the field of football predictions, have so many, got it so wrong"
One of Churchill's finest.👍

Why not ask people for their lottery numbers instead? It may be easier to get right
-
We're playing a side who are absolutely terrific every week next.
Good Lord I hope we turn it around against his mob.
-
We will win our next two, although Hull have impressed me recently but I don't have much confidence for the three that follow that. Confident of getting something out of those three games yes, but confident of winning them no.
-
It needs a turning point. Lambert was so pivotal in turning other sides form against us, I'm sure he'll do his best to oblige.
-

Well one thing I at least got right...Norwich in not winning shock when their fixture list starts to get harder.
Just like in April when Cardiff stopped winning for a bit we choose to go on a winless run ourselves.
-

Can only imagine how bad the atmosphere will get in the Holte if Lambert turns us over.
That can't happen.
-
I'd be surprised, he has a terrible record at Villa Park.
-
He even lost as Norwich manager when we had McLeish, that's how bad he is at VP.
-
I am glad that easy run is almost over
-
If Ipswich beat us, I fully expect Mumbles to do a David Pleat across the pitch. And that's not a euphemism...
-
Last 6 DLWDD 6 points
-
That's 5 bud.
