I genuinely think 15 out of 15. These are almost perfect fixtures coming up.

We'll score more than 10 and concede more than 5 I reckon. I'll go for 14 goals scored and 8 against. I'd like to see us give TSM2 a pasting at Villa Park.

The only one I’m worried about is QPR. They are getting on for being the form team of the division. I’m probably being paranoid but still wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat about the post dogheads game last year.!

QPR deserve a fucking kicking. We outplayed them start to finish at their place and found a way to lose.

Should beat Preston, like last season they have 5-6 regulars missing v us. Lost at home to Hull today.

Wigan looked decent earlier this season but been in dreadful form for a few months. Know someone who lives in Newton-Le-Willows so will be popping up to that one. Has to be a game to win if we want to do anything this season.

Hull home. Beat them up there under SB....will also weaken them by recalling Elphick.

QPR is a bit of a danger one for me. Can see it being a draw although they're the last opposition we should underestimate after last season.

Ipswich will probably be moved as think we'll beat Swansea cup even with changes.

13/15.

Win all 5

Tend to agree the Qpr game looks the banana skin

If we can win all 5 we should be well placed in the play offs and perhaps within touching distance of automatics after all. But that depends on others dipping of course

We always seem to play Preston when theyve loads of injuries and we still struggle to beat them (Deepdale apart last season).
With Grealish I'd be confident of winning all of these with maybe one draw/defeat. Without him, it's just too hard to say as we are struggling to impose a style of play in his absence thus far.

Reading away after these 5 games as well. 18 out of 18?
Title: Re: Our next five games - prediction
Post by: Ads on December 27, 2018, 07:58:52 AM
They're all winnable. Each may pose a problem in some way, QPR for example are a bit of a bogey side, but play that game at Loftus Road 100 times and their defence cracks 90 times out the 100.

We need a big winning streak to cement us into the Play Offs. With new additions we may have solved a crisis or two and be stronger.

Players returning to fitness and with the fire power we have, I think we could be repeating what happened last year at this time.

Agree with most that 15 Pts should be won but we really remains to be seen what starting 11 are picked / available to get them ......that’s my fear with lack of freshness , injuries etc

Even something like 11 points would get us into top 6 as likes of Boro and Derby are losing form now and others are playing each other.

15 only really needed if catching Norwich/WBA is seen as realistic prospect.

The contenders for promotion -Top 11 teams - Fixture matches playing against each other in next 5 weeks.

When villa play QPR New year's day
Derby v Middlesbrough
Nottm Forest v Leeds

When villa play Wigan away
Leeds v Derby
Birmingham   V Middlesbrough
Sheff Utd v QPR
West Brom v Norwich

When villa play Hull home
Norwich   v Birmingham

The way those fixtures are beating Preston and QPR could definitely see us climb into play offs

Derby and Boro are 39 points and are meeting on New year's day !

Derby next 2 matches are Norwich and Boro.
Boro next 2 matches are Ipswich Home and Derby away

Didn't realise Derby had such a nightmare run. They'll certainly be below us in next few weeks.

Boro are awful but I'd like them to stay in the play off mix as we always do well against them.

Will be a tricky game. DS really needs to freshen up the 11 as we were so lacklustre out there, starts for Elphick, BB and Adomah. Move Bree to RB.

Compared to where they were in August they will be. Won at Forest for first time ever in their last away game.

I really could see them beating us

They'll come and sit deep and knock it long. I don't know (wait for it) whether we will beat them (its coming) but I'll be fucked if I start worrying about QPR comimg toVilla Park (here it is). We'll have plumbed new depths when I do.

Scars of last season really for me. In fairness even if we'd won 3-0 today QPR just seems a tricky opponent in our present state in a way Wigan and Ipswich in next few weeks shouldn't.

I’m sticking with 13 points. We are going to have some rocky performances. You cannot just drop in players into a system that he wants that hasn’t previously been in place. And the injuries have made it twice as hard.

Sheffield United the club taking full advantage of their stumbling.

Well one thing I at least got right...Norwich in not winning shock when their fixture list starts to get harder.

Just like in April when Cardiff stopped winning for a bit we choose to go on a winless run ourselves.
