Just had a notification from Villa that the Blues game is already sold out !
-
Seems a bit odd. It doesn't normally sell out that fast and there is usually some kind of communication sent out that it is close to selling out.

Wasn't doubting you mate as I've seen it elsewhere. Just can't recall a game selling out that quickly before.
-
Almost 41,500 fans will be inside Villa Park for the most hotly-anticipated game on the calendar.
Where did the 1,000-plus seats go that we used to have in the stadium?!

There will be about 700 empty seats in the away end.
-
Most of them are around the away section. Away fans get the same sized area they used to in the PL when we gave 3K tickets, sha get 2200 I think?
-
Yeah there was a 10% increase.
-
Incredible really. Over to Dean and the team to make it a great day :)
-
The initial sale was to ‘claret members’ by the time it got to season ticket holders I was surprised to find only 3 seats left in L7! I think it has sold really quick, but to people with strong entitlements to tickets so there hasn’t really been any time (or need) for a rallying call to buy tickets.
At the same time - I wasn’t asked to allocate the extra ticket I bought to anyone. I think even season ticket holders have had to show a booking history for the person they are buying for before - so maybe there’s a few that have been able to get tickets that couldn’t before & that’s what’s made for a quicker sale.
As long as no ST holders are sneaking nose mates in it isn’t a problem.
-
Great news though sadly for me it's the first home game I'm going to miss versus them for 30 years ! Wife has a big Birthday so we are away.
If it had been on the Saturday as scheduled I could have gone. Anyone know the last time we played them at VP at 3pm on a Saturday? To be honest I don't actually think these games need to be shunted to Sunday's at noon any longer.

Becuz there will be 5000 bluez in da holte innit!
-
I've sold my ticket to a Bluenose.
I'm too scared to go on the Holte when I'd be the only Villa on there with 26500 Noses.

Think this was mentioned in the Swansea post match thread but hospitality seats count towards the attendance and not as many occupied as when in premier league. There's also that corner bit under the big screen by the away end which isn't used anymore so that's 300-400 seats out of action.

You can't fail to sell overpriced seats in the hospitality areas and still claim it's a sell out.

Since we started playing them quite regularly again from 2002 onwards I can't recall a Saturday game against them. Without cheating and looking it up, off the top of my head I reckon our last Saturday game against them was December 1987.
-
All Sunday 12:00 with the exception of 2 Monday night homages to the 1980s and a Tuesday and Wednesday evening.
-
Didn’t we play them at home on a Saturday lunchtime a few years ago, possibly when Houllier was manager? It was a 0-0 bore around October time.
-
Nope. Was a Sunday.
-
Nope. Was a Sunday.
Fair enough. I thought it was a Saturday for some reason.
-
Was that the game only notable for Bannan going for a header against Zigic and a bloke in the Witton trying to head a ball that had gone out and ended up falling over?
-
Yes. He was then marched out of the ground to loud boos.

Lovely. And I’m pretty sure Dean Smith won’t be popping up any time soon with SOTC flag.

Oh dear. What a sad twat. Is that real?
It's the only way managers can survive there isn't it. Get in with them, so to speak.
Oh well. Pin it up on the dressing room wall pre match.
-
What a fucking twat.
Is there nothing professional about that shithole?

Everything about this is wrong but not getting the bollocks badge centred properly between the type is unforgivable. Everything they do is amateurish.
-
Monk strikes me as the sort of manager best suited to coming out and helping sell the service package and gap insurance on that second hand Volvo.
Is anybody really surprised at how unprofessional and small time they are?
They list the 1983 Atari 6-aside as an honour and have an ashtray from Barca in their trophy cabinet.
An utter embarrassment of a club.
-
How is that not bringing the game into disrepute? Aside from the rags permanently being an embarrassment, this is a disgrace.
-
Wasn't there a video going round end of last season of a few of their players singing SOTV in a bar in Brum?
I get their staff won't like us and anti-Villa stuff will get them brownie points from their fanbase but I agree does smack of small time mentality.
Would only say perhaps Monk was just asked to pose with a fan holding that flag up and didn't read what was actually on the front. Probably be a line he'll come out with if asked in his next press conference anyway.
-
i'm not that arsed about it
-
I don’t mind it either-just demonstrates the gulf in class between the two clubs. Kind of funny they would stoop to that level really, must be the last of the summer transfer budget on display. I reckon they’re a bit worried of a hiding.
-
If anyone does that there twitter thing I am also informed that one of their players is on there bragging about what he intends to do to Grealish - he seems pissed up but still I hope Jack says hello after banging one in
-
I've never liked Garry Monk - since well before his Blues days. He is just one of the nastiest, most classless managers I've ever heard in post match interviews. He's just a ****** really.
-
It's that full back Pederson. Looks like he's well cut and it's hard to hear what he's saying.
But yeah. Typical classless shite.

Hahaha! Ffs banner fail. On another note, it doesn't look as though Monk has had the management/press/sky memo about trying to avoid a repeat of "a return to those dark days of football hooliganism from 1980's" etc but on the upside, I think it's pretty fair to say, I doubt he'll be managing us anytime in the near future.

Classless bastards
-
Let's face it, if they were a decent, level headed bunch it would be boring. Long may it continue.
-
Three points please, Villa. Ta ever so!
-
I'm not gonna get my knickers in a twist over it. It's only what you'd expect from such a shitty little, classless, clueless, useless, potless pile of dog shit football club.

To be fair the badge is central, it just looks odd with 3 letters one side and 4 the other
-
Everything about it is odd!

Link? I don't do (or understand) Twitter.
-
I wouldn't bother.
Pederson fits in well with the Noses though. He can barely get a word out the thick ******.

Photoshop?

Isn't Pedersen the player they signed that unwittingly cast examination on their ropey situation vis a vis FFP?
-
This picture is excellent, because it reinforces that with Birmingham City from the very top to the very bottom its all about the Villa.I fucking love it.Long may it continue.
-
I'd expect nothing less from that sorry little lot. No doubt he'll feign innocence and claim he didn't know what it meant.
-
South Birmingham? Let's be honest here, realistically these small timers may as well start referring to themselves as North Beoley.
-
DEFIANT Blues fans took to the streets in protest against the decision not to allow an open-top bus tour through Birmingham to mark the team’s Carling Cup win.
Despite fans last week claiming thousands would gather for their own unofficial celebration, only around 100 gathered in the city centre’s Victoria Square having walked there in small groups following the civic reception at St Andrew’s yesterday.
They then marched through the streets, chanting: “We’re Birmingham City, we’ll do what we want,” as bewildered shoppers looked on.
They stopped outside Aston Villa FC’s official shop on New Street, where they shouted and swore to workers inside, before heading on through Bullring shopping centre up to the Chinese Quarter and along Hurst Street.
They started to disband after getting lost and failing to find Sherlock Street, where they had planned to end their protest over Birmingham City Council’s decision not to hold a parade due to health and safety reasons.
Andrew Henry, a 21-year-old trainee social worker, of Sheldon, attached a huge Blues flag to the columns of the Council House.
“I know I am speaking on behalf of every Birmingham City FC supporter when I say I am disappointed we didn’t get an open-top bus parade,” he said.
Brendan Anderson, 46, a builder of Bartley Green, who was in Victoria Square with his son Liam, 12, added: “I can’t believe we have been denied this parade, it’s a disgrace.”
Carer Kevin Roberts, aged 45, of Yardley, said: “I think it’s appalling. The official celebration was pathetic It would have been much better to have done something last week. It’s spoilt it for me really. It’s like we never won.”
-
*Dr Hibbert chuckle*
-
That quote never fails to entertain, PWS. :)

The Oeley without a Castle.

I wouldn't bother.
Pederson fits in well with the Noses though. He can barely get a word out the thick c***.
Could also be the guy that gets them points deducted as his signing upset the Football league when they were supposed to be embargoed.

Photoshop?
It was posted by a nose on Twitter. He was very proud of it.
-
Not enough crayon for Photoshop.
-

Can't Villa give that to the ref before kick off, or give it to the FA. It's disgraceful for a pro footballer to be posting this sort of thing.
-
I'm not bothered by it, but for anyone who is they could find it and retweet the video to the FA. Surely if they are looking into James McLean (again!) they could take a look.
-
I define the difference between us and them as follows; If they beat us, there are 8 page pullout specials, requests for open top buses and quite frankly you don't hear the end of it for months. Then they will put the victory onto a commemorative bollock badge in years to come. If we beat them, I literally have a quiet smile of relief and satisfaction, never ever rub their noses in it and simply move onto the next fixture. I was more annoyed that we lost at Fulham the week after we beat them last time than I was happy at beating them.
-

I note Beoley is near somewhere called Holt End. Is this what they mean when they want to "take it" ??
-
I remember standing in complete shock in a pub to see a moron wearing a commemorative polo shirt that recorded the two results against us in 2003
Someone then reminded the trampy bastard that it was 2010!
The fear of losing to them is ALWAYS out weighed by any possible winning outcome
I truly would prefer to never play them ever again

The is exactly how I feel.
Last time we beat them I think the sum total of my gloating was just posting 'UTV' on facebook.
-
Never forget, they have this badge that includes celebrating draws against us.

Nothing like a grabbing a legendary 0-0 against the Vile.
-
Even more amusing is their league record against us since those 6 'hammerings' is PL12 W0 D3 L9 F5 A18 GD-13 Pts 3
-
2005 was the last time they beat us in the league, 13 years...
-
That's blown it.
-
Why? We'll twat these ****** all over the shop.
Give Grealish and co 70+% of the ball and you will get turned over.

I am genuinely fascinated as to how the bile and hatred manifests itself through generations of them. I'm also fascinated by how many of them can't pronounce th and replace it with f, ie
Fink instead of think.

I think that's a south Birmingham thing in the main. I hear it a fair bit around Sheldon Solihull. They're obviously not finking about what they're saying.
-
fink (fĭngk) Slang

1. A contemptible person.
2. An informer.
3. A hired strikebreaker.
intr.v. finked, fink·ing, finks

I'm from South Brum and its not something I've heard. Mind you it might be how the yoofs speak. Some of them can hardly string a sentence together. Innit.

???
Isn't Pedersen the player they signed that unwittingly cast examination on their ropey situation vis a vis FFP?
Thats the guy but there was nothing unwitting about it. They were told point blank that they were under scrutiny for contravening ffp and spcifically told not to sign any players. They chose to ignore it and signed him. Whatever punishment they get will be fully deserved. Fuck em.

I should have said South Birmingham Blues fans for a better description. My sister and brother inlaw and their friends specifically.
-
I was born in South Birmingham, Kings Heath to a proud Villa / Irish family, my mother would not allow myself and my sisters to talk like that. Oh and Kings Heath is Villa!!!!!
-
This will be close....4-0 Villa
