UPDATED - There will be a full train service tomorrow between Birmingham and Nottingham, however there will be no lifts working on Nottingham station.
-
always good to plan your station fire in advance
-
Trains from Birmingham New Street to Nottingham may terminate at Beeston Saturday 13th Jan due to the station fire at Nottingham.
Fans going the Forest game tomorrow might want to make alternative travel arrangements.
Being discussed on the pre-match thread as well.
If they are running to Beeston then it's a short walk to the trams stop in Beeston centre and the trams are running into the City Centre (not stopping at Nottingham Station).
-
The trams are going to be very packed I'd have thought. Hopefully a replacement bus service will be added to help with demand.
-
You can travel to any of the following stations (depending on which direction you are coming from)
Derby £25 taxi or Red Arrow Bus
Beeston £10 Taxi or Bus/Tram into City Centre
Attenborough - A tiny village station but 5 mins walk to busy street where you can get taxi (£10) or bus.
East Midlands Parkway - Now only served via Taxi although they may run a special bus service due to circumstances. £10 taxi.
Lowdham/Burton Joyce - Small village stations realistically going to be taxi only from here around £20.
If your train is still going via any of these stations you'll be good to go.

Where's the source of this because Cross Country trains are still saying they don't know what service they'll be running tomorrow until structural engineers have assessed Nottingham station?

I work in a railway control. There is another conference at 1930. If there's any update I'll post it here.

BTP are now advising against any train travel to Nottingham tomorrow...

Glad the station front hasn't been damaged, they've done a great job with it.

I work in the Control. Info just being sent out to the public now.

Brilliant, many thanks. Phenomenal by those involved.

It's a bit of a walk from Beeston to the actual town centre there. Good ten minutes so doubt trams will be rammed from that area. From there it's twenty minutes to Nottm city centre and then another 5 to the station stops.
Would personally get a bus ticket with the train ticket as there's loads that go towards the Trent Bridge area.

Agree, my brother lived in Beeston. Not a bad walk though - the pub at Beeston station does very good food.

Edit - this only referred to EMT. Cross Country are running a normal service. Good News!
