Hogan? That’s a surprise

What’s up with Yoko?

I was just thinking I’d like to see Hogan playing off Davis. This is his chance. It’s an aggressive line up.

Two upfront as I wanted.

Hogan really needs to step up.

We have Adomah in brilliant form who'll provide him with crosses. Snodgrass can play incisive throughballs centrally.

He was doubtful for today’s along with a few others. Glad Snoddy and Hutton made it through

I like that line up. Be interesting to see how Hogan does with Davis, I can see that working well.

Good to see Jack and Callum O'Hare on the bench, hopefully they'll get some game time.

UTV.

Sheff Weds have badly underachieved this season. Fletcher, Rhodes and Hooper all good strikers at this level and Bannan's a good midfielder down here.

I got the reminder this morning but AVTV told me yesterday it's not being broadcasted live video, just audio.

Be interesting to see how Hogan does today partnered with Davis.  Should suit far more than being up front on his own.

I hope it's not his last chance, that would be more than a little unfair. It is a chance though of course and you would hope that he would look a threat at least, especially if its a good team performance.

Must be the quickest goal in recent memory at VP. I remember Ian Taylor once scoring after 40 seconds but that was in the 90s.

Be a good test for the team this. We've been in the lead in most of the games this season and won them. Less so when we've conceded first.

Just got a reply from support pointing me to the list of ineligible fixtures and apologising for 'the inconvenience'.

Have replied pointing out it might have been an idea not to advertise live video if it wasn't available and that it isn't an 'inconvenience', it's charging for an non-existent product and they need to issue a refund.

It's not good viewing - I'd take only being 0-2 down at HT if you offered it to me now.

We need to give Snodgrass some support, he just gets isolated and has no option but to run down blind alleys.

The game plan Bruce would have had was tossed in the bin as soon as they scored. We’re not a side that does well chasing the game.

I don't understand why the formation was changed after being so dominant in midweek?

Is it not patently obvious now that Whelan struggles in a 2 man midfield? Jedinak for Onomah should have been the change.

442 ain't working anyway. Movement from front two, Hogan particularly is non existent. Hourihane far too passive in possession, Whelan miles off the pace. Two wide men anonymous, although a big call to whip his big signing Snodgrass off before half time.

Might aswell bring Grealish on for Hogan. 4231 with Adamoah, O'Hare and Grealish as the 3 supporting Davis. Wed look very organised to be fair

You just knew we'd never fight back.

I think that's the one key thing that we still lack, fight and determination when up against it. If we can swagger around half arsed teams with our superior quality that's one thing, we saw it on Wednesday and in some other recent games but we don't like it 'up us' unfortunately. This has to be sorted very quickly. Losing a few key players is also still a big problem and makes a huge difference. With Kodjia, Terry and Jedinak all out we're also rans at best.

Seems some twat threw something at Bannan.

You have to be a complete wanker to do that. Life ban if he/she is identified I hope.

that being the case I hope it was Steve Bruce.

not likely to be a game changing substitution, just a Bruce aimless throw of the dice

It’s this out of the box thinking that shows Bruce as the master tactician, footballing genius that we keep being told he is.

This completely ruins the good work done in the week. Disappointing but unfortunately also half expected I'm afraid.

At least SHA are in the bottom 3 now.

Seems like the break is coming at a good time.

Not a good result but no overreactions necessary Wednesday will be challenging.

They will if they play us every week. Let’s not forget SHA beat this lot.

True.  But we’re doing okay overall.  Automatic looks a long shot though.

It's not just the defeat, it's how little we've created against a side that have been crap away from home.

Today shows Villa are not consistent enough, especially when the other side play decent football and press us.
Bruce seems unable to change his tactics if Plan A fails
