As much as I hate playing with 1 striker, that’s pretty solid.

As I expected.

Now let's hope Hourihane and Onomah are given good licence to break into their box.

If they're just told to sit alongside Whelan we know the Bruce mindset today.

Jota is starting for them btw. Hope Whelan is on it as he demolished us at Brentford.

Onomah was almost playing as an extra forward at times last week.

I'm happy with the team, it looks ok and a decent bench too.

Please win indeed Villa

They're 433 too...I thought Bruce would match them up,especially as we looked a threat last week with the same formation. We'll win this if we can control possession.

Surprised Grealish hasn't made the bench..Think we'll be scratching around for creativity off the bench if we need it..Pleased to see Jedinak back on there though.

Let's ensure there's 11 of us at the end..Aggressive but nothing that's going to play into their hands.

Come on me babbies!

They will raise their game, it's their world cup final, we already know that. We also know they are shit, we've beaten them 8 of the last 12 times, let's not make out they become decent against us, they're still have, have always been shit and always will be shit. They are the shit. Let's put them to bed with a smacked arse today. A tough game, but we have strong, experienced players. Villa by the odd goal.

Shame it won't be Gabby to make the defeat complete.

If there's one disappointment about the 18 is Grealish not being on the bench although it's understandable. He'd have loved to have come on and scored.

I don't think the ref did himself any favours by showing a couple of yellow cards for that pushing and shoving match. For me he has just put pressure on himself for the rest of the game by doing that.

As for the clappers, the first rule of parenting is not giving toys to kids who aren't at the stage of their development to play with them nicely and properly.

The trouble is we have gifted players, but there's no strategy for how they're meant to move in the final third. So they pick up the ball, dwell on it, contemplate trying to Maradona through the Blues defence, turn around and pass it to the only player we have in space - a defender. There's just no fecking plan.

Think the SHA intensity and pressing has been too much for us first half.

Got to think there's no chance that can last all second half so hopefully we can get more space and actually create something.

Good to see the fans of the team that carry the name of the city impressing the TV and radio pundits with their missile throwing. I hope they get fined.

I liked the smirk on the face of Hutton after he hurt Vassell. He did make half an attempt to hide it by wiping his face with his shirt.

The trouble is we have gifted players, but there's no strategy for how they're meant to move in the final third. So they pick up the ball, dwell on it, contemplate trying to Maradona through the Blues defence, turn around and pass it to the only player we have in space - a defender. There's just no fecking plan.

You sound surprised, Monty.

Shocked, *shocked* to find there is gambling going on here.

"Birmingham now have to remember they can't play the ball up to Vassell now he has gone off". Even the co-commentator knows they are f*ckwits.

It has been an even first half for me. If we aren't careful they might get a point that could be the one that keeps them up.

If we on here have figured out that our front players aren't going to be winning high balls vs those centre backs, why can't our defence and midfield see it?  Is deliberately playing for 2nd ball scraps / lucky bounces a tactic?

The Johnson deflected kick was a warning, I can easily see them winning by a flukey goal and/or defensive brain-lapse on our side.  We need to really start pinning them back and not let them grow in confidence in front of their own fans.

Bruce really is a coward away from home. We have all the weapons to win games like this and yet he plays for the draw or tries to nick it on the break instead of having the balls to be aggressive. There’s shitting your pants then there’s having Whelan and Jedinak on the pitch at the same time.

And you know when we lose he’ll come out with the same old bollocks of not playing well and them being first to the ball, and how it’s not acceptable. Well with Whelan and Jedinak on the pitch they are guaranteed to be first and second to the ball.

Can we please get rid of both in January and get a "whole" player?

I was going ape shit when they had that throw in deep in our half in injury time just before we had that last free kick. First bloke steals a few yards and then tosses it to another tosser who steals a few more. I thought between the two of them they were on a sponsored f*cking walk.

I thought they (arguably) slightly shaded the first half but we were definately the better side in the second. I will take a point from what, in the circumstances was always going to be a tricky away game but we really should have beaten them as they are not a good side. I thought Jota was their best player, but he is a bit like Grealish. A bit too much fart and not much shit at the end of it.
