Melvins, story's are what Legends are made of, from his Loquacious expounding on all things, (He would have loved that) to his exploits following the Villa, Melvin will leave a big space.

I hear you steamer top boys each and everyone of them. Had some great away days with the steamers myself in the 70s sad sad day

To me they were lads but first and foremost great Villa lads. Think likes of Melv were out for the crack were not out and out loons. I know a lot them had good mates who supported other teams.

Gave me a couple of pairs of shorts and a bin if i recall correctly. I remember the old ground being a bit funny sharing with the cricket club when i had a kicked about on the pitch.

Nearly every time I went to the Villa someone had a new and funny story to tell about their exploits.
