Title: "Atmosphere" on Saturday.
Post by: SoccerHQ on February 01, 2016, 11:09:30 PM
It's going to be mutinous isn't, the Holte End will finally wake up from its slumber and direct ire at the directors box, the likes of which we wouldn't have seen since the Ellis out days.

And I think that will happen even if we are winning, the line has been crossed now.

Not advocating violence or any of that nonsense but it will be good to make Hollis and Fox feel uncomfortable sitting there and knowing they've got another 7 home games still to attend. Yes the most important man isn't there but who knows they might feel so uncomfortable at the games they might be on the hotline to Cleveland and politely inform Randy to drop his asking price by quite a considerable amount as quickly as possible.

Going to be an interesting day anyway, the football is secondary from now on.

I'll be there and yes I'll be mutinous. I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. The football is a sideshow because we're fucked so there's no point.

The board need to be told as loudly and as clearly as it is humanely possible that they've let us down, and we have their number. They need to have the most uncomfortable afternoon they can remember. If they show up.

I can see it getting nasty if we go behind.

Give the board both barrels; they deserve it.

to be honest, I think the time for just staying away is over.

Regardless of relegation, this club is under threat of extinction under the current board

all that are left are the supporters, we cant let our club just die

To be fair what else are the authorities going to do?

Dock us points?  What a difference that'll make.
Kick us out of the league?  We're doing that just fine without the Premier League's help.
Close parts of the ground?  The Board will probably do that anyway soon as part of their next money saving scheme.

It's got to the point of not mattering really.  The Board don't give a shit about the consequences so why should the fans?

Meanwhile, on a planet where pitch invasions aren't always one big laugh and show what proper lads we are there's quite a lot that can be done. They can close the ground for a start, and won't that be wonderful? Still, as long as boys can be boys.

We must be purged by fire in order to rise again from the ashes.

Good luck to the stewards trying to get certain sections of the crowd to sit down on Saturday.

Can we get the 'boys' from the Wycombe bus incident to stand outside the executive car park before and after the game to give Hollis and Fox the warm welcome they deserve.

Alternatively, someone could take in a can of fake poo and place a nice little swirl on each of the executive seats...yes it's juvenile, but it'd make me laugh.

Just read on a different thread where we were described as waving the white flag and it struck me that this would be the perfect demonstration...if everyone took a white flag with either Fox, Hollis or Lerner written on it and waved it for the entirety of the game on Saturday and beyond.

When we have these outpourings of what should happen at a game, pitch invasions, Wycombe chav rants, shit on the directors' seats and so forth, it would be enlightening to know what proportion of the proposers actually attend games.

Creating an amazing atmosphere, a wall of sound to spur on our warriors on the pitch.

I was considering renewing my season ticket next year again (blind faith 30+ years)

I was hoping that during the summer with Garde in charge he would get rid of a lot (most) of the players who currently play for our club, however if Garde does leave we will be stuck with the same bunch of losers who we have had for 4 + seasons (new manager fresh slate etc...)

You can almost see Richardson etc... being given a new contract!

If this happens then I doubt I will be renewing, I wonder if Mr Lerner/ Hollis / Fox will be laughing when we are getting 18,000 for a midweek game next season

Change needs to happen and it needs to be nasty and horrible!

Garde needs all the support he can get. I hope he starts picking the players he believes are our future.
As for protest, a march to the stadium and a late entry (5 minutes or so into the game) by 100's of supporters would make an impact. Banners - yes. But, for most impartial observers it will probably look like 'too little, too late': protest and dissent should have happened two-three years' ago.

No chance of getting any banners criticising the board into the ground.  At the Palace game, stewards were confiscating any banners which in the words of one of them "had a go at Randy Lerner".  I like the idea of showing support for Remi Garde though.

Support the team, support the manager, barrack the board.  Take some banners of support for Garde and discontent with the Board amd show the lazy media that we arn't 'fickle', we arn't 'deluded' were knowledgable, loyal, loud and know who the culprits are.

Pitch invasions with coffins and mass boycotts are for the hysterically sanctimonious of Sandwell or the Neanderthals of Small Heath.

It has to be made crystal clear that we're 100% behind Garde, the last thing we want to do is create an atmosphere where the one good thing we have going for us decides it's time for him to leave.

Agree with knott1961.
We need to support our club and remi the one decent thing to happen to us. I wouldn't have blamed him if he'd gone at 11pm last night. Only fan support may convince him to stay. You don't need to buy a pie and a drink at games or programmes or merchandise to show support for AVFC. Hit Lerner and co in their pockets and boycott these things. I boycotted buying a season ticket because of Lerner but I've still been to 7 premier league games for £83 supporting my team. We need to create maximum embarrassment for Lerner,Fox etc so that it is viewed on a global scale. Use.the internet and YouTube to reach America and beyond but do it in a way that shows up Lerner, Fox etc for what they are but Villa fans as having class, loyalty and pride. UTV!! Fck the villa board!

I like Lerner's wikipedia page, already got to by someone.

"Thought to be the worst chairman in Aston Villa history with a poor record and not a single trophy to his name."

and Occupation - "Gutless Coward"

Its reputation for inaccuracy in its early years is no longer justified.

Depends on what happens on the pitch. I think if we go a goal down and are losing at half time, big numbers in the Holte will start to make their feelings towards Lerner n co known.

Agree with Richard E it is difficult to feel anything but numb and give up, but we can't, we must show some fight, Lerner is going no where and just happy to let the club decline further. I have had a season ticket for 30 years, I really do not want to renew but unless the majority all take the stance of not renewing its pointless. We have to find a way to hit back and force them out, worry with that is what could we be letting ourselves in for if they sell on the cheap!!!  The only peaceful way is to hit their pockets

Easy Chris just tell then we are playing away, they would not know where we are playing unless someone holds their hands from their 5 star hotel room till they get on the coach, hijack the coach and drive around the M25 for 3 hours, they will be too busy listening to their Bosh speakers and playing snap for 200 quid a game.

Was told the other day they overheard Hollis ask Fox what time the KO was against Leicester and he said 3PM. Apparently this had to be rapidly revised when it was pointed out it was 5:30PM.

Its also got to be undertaken by the vast majority. Not a few.

Yes, that'll be clever. Do they not understand that it won't be his money paid out and it won't be fines more than once?

To be fair what else are the authorities going to do?

Dock us points?  What a difference that'll make.
Kick us out of the league?  We're doing that just fine without the Premier League's help.
Close parts of the ground?  The Board will probably do that anyway soon as part of their next money saving scheme.

It's got to the point of not mattering really.  The Board don't give a shit about the consequences so why should the fans?

Go ahead and act like a Bluenose idiot. They used to be very good at pitch invasions.

I believe I saw on T V some game in Italy that when the Manager or referee made bad decisions that the white hankies were waved around and they whistled, it looked quite effective and they got their point across.
could this waving of white hankies be done on our remaining home games, but also there should be some support of
Remi to show him the fans understand that the board have tied his hands

You can't have people waltzing down to the front of the stands to chuck scarves on the pitch, its a health and safety hazard. If you wished to do something meaningful with the scarves then get fans to tie them to the gates and metal fence on the Trinity Rd - It would take quite some coordination though and I seriously question whether there is the motivation to do this.

Ok, they haven't got the message then, we must give it to them on Saturday, the only thing that'll work is not to go, it's the only thing the fuckwits will understand.
A crowd of around 10k all waiving white flags/hankies will get the message across I think, no pitch invasions or violence, just clear, silent waving of white flags, which is what they have done.

Apathy is a strong tool.

I've drifted away from Villa Park over the past few years, gone from having a season ticket for over 15 years running and travelling down from Manchester for every game to only going to a handful of games a season and even then mainly for social reasons. I'm probably the embodiment of an empty Villa Park seat.

Looking at the headlines as the transfer window was about to close last night and seeing that, rather than having signed a striker at the last minute to give us a flicker of a chance of staying up, the only man to have both a footballing brain and a key to an office at Villa Park is on the verge of quitting knocked all the apathy right out of me. I'm not convinced it's the right course of action but I've got every sympathy with people who want to turn up and invade the pitch rather than protest by going down the garden centre. I certainly think showing the world that we care means more than letting them think we don't.

Anything reserved for the last home game should be scrapped - we don't want to give Newcastle any satisfaction watching us suffer, we put on our party face that day.

Saturday we should give the board an insight to what Villa Park will look like next season - 1874 protest, no one enter the stadium until 18 minutes into the game, enter the ground get right behind Remi and the team until 74 minutes then everyone walk out en masse. For this to be effective we need a 35k+ crowd and everyone to participate no stragglers sneaking in to the Witton Lane and Upper Trin early because its raining or they can't be bothered. Imagine the eery atmosphere at the start when all you can here inside are the shouts of the players and the occasional farmers mutterings from the dozen or so Norwich fans.

If people want to give it a bit longer watching the game we can switch it to a 1982 ;)

The reaction was good today as the Holte got behind the team continually for the first 15 minutes and then, apart from the odd lull, throughout the match.

Well done the Lower Trinity in the corner for getting into it late in the second half - now if the rest of the ground would like to join in (with a nod to Lower Witton by the away fans who always seem to be up for it) it might sound quite good.

Just give us something to cheer and we will do the rest!

I think our fans are smart enough to see that this manager is the most honest and erudite we have had in many years. That's there's no bullshit, he says it like it is and has slowly but surely mobilized the team with very few new resources to a side that is far more compact and resolute. We can get behind that as fans. That ultimately we are angry for him but that isn't going to do anyone any good now. The best thing is to follow the managers example and simply get behind the team to whatever the end is.
