Title: New Business
Post by: ACVilla on May 22, 2014, 01:29:35 PM
Hi,

I have started a new business and my website has gone live today. I am looking for people's feedback on my website. Is it something I would be allowed to post in Off Topic or not.

The business is an event hire business.

I tried to PM a Mod to answer this question but It says I am not allowed access to that section.

Thanks in advance.

Andy

I could be wrong (new to this mod lark), but I don't think we really allow free advertising for external businesses I'm afraid.  Perhaps another mod could clarify?

I figured that may be the case.

Thanks.

Hi

No, we do not allow free business advertising in posts or signatures.

We will accept some advertising subject to a donation towards the sites running costs.

Please contact me by PM or Email if you want to discuss this further.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your response. Can you please tell me how to PM you as when I click on your name it says I'm not allowed to access it.

Cheers,

Andy

Hi AC

I run a webdesign and SEO company among other things and without seeing your website, the basic things you should look for
are loading  time, ease of navigation, compatibility of all browsers and mobile phones, fast loading images and most importantly SEO.

Hope this helps.

Having a shitload of porn might help with traffic too.

Probably because in your Profile > Look and Layout you have the don't show people's annoying signature box checked

If anyone has any suggestions feel free to email me.

My domain name is being changed hence the www.ropedoff.co.uk displayed on all pages.

Cheers,

Andy

Do you do crowd barriers or spectator rope for football matches?

As of yet, no we don not. It is something we will be looking at doing along with many other products. I only had so much capital to initially invest into the business and I had to scale back from what we were aiming stock.

As soon as you do, let me know and my school will purchase from you.

Are you looking for a simple rope and ground stake solution (the kind you see when cricket wickets are roped off) or something more advanced?

Simple (cheap!) ground stakes and rope. We have a 'spectator line' marked out on the grass on both long sides of the pitch and a physical barrier would be perfect.

I already have a supplier in place for these which requires me to buy in bulk. Let me check and get back to you tomorrow (due to today's bank holiday). I'll PM you tomorrow.

One problem you will have is the amount of companies already using CCS as a company name on the web.

It's a problem I will welcome if we become big enough for it to be an issue.

Thanks for your input though, are you from Tamworth, Birmingham or London?

There's a spelling error on the 'why use CSS' page.  Otherwise pretty functional and simple = good.

On the testimonials page it might be a good idea to show some of the barriers in 'action'.  It'd add kudos/credibility to your company if there were some photos of celebs etc walking down a red carpet events / shots of the (controlled) crowd at a festival.  I dunno, others may disagree.

I saw "why use CSS?" and immediately thought of Eric Meyer and Jeffrey Zeldman.
