AC/DC's Hell's Bells?! At last a decent anthem with some credibility for Villa to enter to. I'm still wondering if it was just played as a tribute to Eamonn Deacy, and am fully expecting to go back to the usual dross that's normally on offer. However, part of me hopes that the powers that be have actually taken on board some of the comments made about music played at VP and have acted accordingly. We'll find out next week, I suppose.
-
I thought it was 'Hells Bells' by AC/DC they played
-
Of course it was! Realised my mistake and just gone back to correct it. I made the Eamonn Deacy link in my mind and fooled myself into thinking it was Back in Black.
-
Anything by AC/DC is OK by me - However I think highway to hell may be more appropriate at the moment
-
No fan of this genre at all ,but surely it must be something by Black Sabbath? Iommi is a Villa nut and Ozzy grew up in Lodge Road, off Trinity Road. How about Never Say Die.
Personally it would be the theme to Valley of Gwangi for me.
-
Might be a lucky song for us... keep it for Bolton I reckon.
-
It was an improvement.
I'd love some Sabbath for the historical connection, but "Hells Bells" is welcome back if only because we won!
-
How about "It's a long way to the top"?
-
Is the new entrance music at the Molineux "Down, down, deeper and down"?
-
A big improvement from the usual dirge. Keep it.
-
I can't stand AC/DC! I still think the players should come out to Riders in the Sky.
-
This will be the thread that tempts Andy-S out of his H&V exile/ban. I'd prefer Back To Black though.
You know they played Teenage Wasteland as the ressies came out onto the pitch last Monday before the 4-0 win over Newcastle. Ironic really, considering it was one of the finest footballing displays from a bunch of young lads you're ever likely to see.
-
For anyone not at Fulham on Saturday, we have replace the bell rings for the claret and Blue with AC/DC's Hell Bells for our tunnel entrance song
Was it replaced for the Man City game or was Fulham the first time it was used.
-
Thank god for that, that claret and blue song is dreadful.
-
Much improved on the other load of shite we've had. Keep it.
-
We should bring back the one with the Thunderbirds countdown.
That was quality.

You should bring back Groovin' with Mr Bloe.
-
Huge improvement.
-
Very pleased. St Pauli play it too. Their fans go mental for it. check out the videos on youtube.
-
Meh
-
It's a great song. O.K it's not Iron Man but it sets the mood nicely I think.
We're filling the squad with Aussies so we may as well make them feel at home.
-
I'm so glad I sell the fanzine.
Nah, good luck to you if it's your thing, different strokes and all that.

mods/rockers thing perce?
-
Fair play villa. For all the gaffes of late, they are still trying to get things right. V.pleased
-
I now expect Trevor Hoffmann to come out of the tunnel
-
Good to hear the church bells ringing for us after the game!
-
good choice thank goodness last one was dreadful
-
It's a brilliant song I would like this to be played as we walk out.
-
It is.
-
Yes
-
brilliant
-
Yes much better - previous one sounded like a funeral dirge (although saying that the bells at the start of this song are funeral bells to commemorate the death of Bonn Scott - ACDC's original lead singer who died young)
I used to love Geno by Dexys when Dean Saunders was playing and everyone used to sing Deano instead of Geno
-
To do the song justice, maybe the Holte Enders could all bring their tennis racquets to play along with whilst those in the Trinity masturbate under their blankets.
-
Whatever happened to andy- the boards resident ACDC fan?
-
I still think we should use The Ramrods version of Ghost Riders In The Sky, after all it's a song that's unique to our club.

Was banned ages ago. Came back several times with new logins, spotted within days each time, mainly for doing the same thing he'd been doing to get himself banned in the first place.

Get yourself on a Highway to Hell.
Or at least a Highway to Topic 464110.0, where this is being discussed in depth.

What was the tune we used to come out to in the 70's?
Theme for the -something- (I think)

Which was started two whole days after this original one (wink smiley)

Cheers Chico.
I'd certainly vote for that tune.
-
I'm so glad I sell the fanzine.
Same here. Much prefer TFAUSM and/or Escape.
-
I'd vote for the AC/DC one...
if I was on Room 101.
-
I thought the idea of the entrance music was to generate atmosphere and get the crowd going. As much as I'm a fan of AC/DC this songs beat is a bit on the slow side.
-
We will rock you - Queen

Hell no, nothing to do with the song, just that the only people singing along will be the 10 year olds. It will sound like an episode of Gladiators.
-
Creeping Death. Metallica.
-
What is it with Birmingham and Heavy Metal (and Goths)?

It was the smell that gave him away each time.
Do they play ACDC in attempt to make people think that what follows can't possibly be any worse?
-
What is it with Birmingham and Heavy Metal (and Goths)?
It's in our blood.
-
It's a great song from a fantastic album so i'm happy they're playing it, much better than that embarrassing effort we had previously.
-
Just watched St Pauli walking out to it.... cool.
-
The club theme should be Problem Child at the moment.
I do have a recurring fantasy of us being live on TV and the Holte singing the whole of 'War Pigs' arms raise throwing the horns...

That would be my choice personally.
Or how about Cuckoo Daddy Long Legs by Buddy Holly? (Young One's addicts will get this)
