Let's see Man City drawn with Barcelona, AC Milan and Dortmund.
Then we'll find out how good they are.

When is it?

Find something very odious about the Champions League, hardly watched it last season until the final, in part because a lot of the group stage football seemed boring and IMO should be straight knock out competition, but also and mainly because some of the footy is just plain and simply strange.
Take the Arsenal game last night, classic example, last week Udinese went to the Emirates and played Arsenal of the pitch for large parts of the game, in spite of losing just 1-0 should have won by 3, OK, bearing this in mind you would have thought back home, in front of there own very passionate supporters they would have come out and at least up'd there game yet further, I mean a 1 goal lead is nothing, so playing a team that you would think is considerably demoralized from the events of the last few days and within a few hours of the kick of lose another of there last remaining more prolific players............................go out and hammer Udinese at there's, fair enough its football strange other world events do happen, but when you witness a team go 1-0 up in the first half and then simply don't show in the 2nd and get hammered.......can you see where I'm going with this, anyway all felt a bit weird to me, then when you check where all the money was being bet at half time and you start getting into very strange things indeed, so best to say, I'll check back with it next spring and the final.

One of the idiot presenters on Talkshite were comparing Man Citeh to Barcelona the other day. Unbelieveable.
-
What an absolute turdfest. Way better when it was straight knockout, but it wasn't a UEFA cash cow back then.
Transfer deadline day next week too, another load of turgid old bollocks.

Live on uefa.com too

A - Bayern Munich, Villarreal, Man City, Napoli
B - Inter, CSKA Moscow, Lille, Trabzonspor
C - Man Utd, Benfica, Basel, Otelul Galati
D - Real Madrid, Lyon, Ajax, Dynamo Zagreb
E - Chelsea, Valencia, Leverkusen, KRC Genk
F - Arsenal, Marseille, Olympiakos, Dortmund
G - Porto, Shaktar Donetsk, Zenit St Petersberg, Apoel
H - Barcelona, AC Milan, Bate Borisov, Viktoria Plzen
Group D looks tasty!
-
As does A
-
Couldn't have got much more difficult for City, or much easier for United.
-
Why don't they just give Newton Heath a bye and be done with it?
-
Manure get the easy draw again.
-
I'm becoming less and less interested in football that doesn't involve the Villa but every passing year the 'awe' inspiring heavy-weight-clashes-to-come look more and more drab.

Otelul Galati - says it all really.
Bold are the champions (although bizarrely Genk finished second).

Agree. Never ceases to amaze me, how do they do it.

that's Belgians for you!

Bizarrely, Utd have their usual easy group despite 3 of the 4 clubs in it actually being champions of their country while Citeh have the toughest group that contains zero champions.

I did raise a smile when the brought Paul Breitner on today at the CL draw, they showed a few seconds of Rotterdam too, aaaahhh.
-
I wonder if there will be a season when Real Madrid don't play Lyon? They draw each other every year.
could be tricky for Man City, although with the squad they have you would expect them to progress.
-
I think that Arsenal will do very well to get past Dortmund and Marseille.

Not sure about Marseille but I've seen Dortmund a few times this season and they look a good team, I hope they take Arsenal to the cleaners.
-
I couldn't care less about any of them to be honest.
-
Because they were seeded first? Most of the top seeds look like they will go through comfortably.
-
Interesting to see how hard some of Citeh's more posturing fans (Liam Gallagher, that's you) actually are when they come up against Napoli's Camorra-backed ultras.
-
And having been to Naples this summer I understand they are a pretty good side these days and a very intimidating place to visit. Forza Napoli, forza Cavani.
