In keeping with the time of year, I thought it would be a good idea to look forward with some optimism. So:- Great result today, Still in the FAC, Possibly Best Youth Policy in PL and more or less everyone fully fit with the transfer window open. Any others ?
-
I am optimistic also, the second half of this season is going to be hard work after a pretty poor first half but with the recovering players and the (slim) possibility of a half decent signing during the transfer window I am hopeful for brighter things.
-
Me too. Suddenly things dont look quite as bleak as they did after the citeh game. We really need to beat Sunderland on Wednesday and start to string a few wins together to completely dispel the gloom
-
Plenty of reasons to look on the bright side after that game. Fully fit holding players making a huge difference, Gabby seeming to care again, Ash surviving a life-threatening knee injury (I mean, he wouldn't ham it up at all, would he?), Heskey making GH's comparison to Drogba earlier in the season look plausible - all in all, a good day.
-
I think we can only get better in the second half of the season our injured players are starting to come back and we have talented youngsters coming through with one or two additions in the january window then i think we can start to push on in what as been a terrible start to the season so i'm going for optimism for me.
-
I think the players will pull together now and start to climb the table.
Yesterday they showed a bit of pride in the claret and blue shirt. That's what we want to see.

I prefer the grumpy old git, pessimist approach. It has served me well over 40 years of watching the Villa. Watch the reaction on here if we lose to Sunderland on Wednesday or even if we only get a draw....

I prefer to try to enjoy it.

I am waiting for the first person to mention Europe
-
Lets remember Everton have made a habit of having a bad start then marching up the table with a good run in !

There's enough opportunity to induge my grumpy old git, pessimistic side in real life. Football is an escape form that.

and we have a transfer window..... yessss ...
-
IMHO I would say the second half of the season looks easier than the first half.

That Joey Tempest was a twat, wasn't he?
-
On the downside, it has been a very testing season thus far, and I don't think we'll qualify for the Champions League.
On the bright side, we're absolutely definitely going to win the FA Cup this season.
-
Personally, I've proved to myself this season that Villa losing is not the end of the world. We've had one of the shittest halves of a season I can recall in my time as a supporter and the roof has not yet caved in. So as in life, my football support has started 2011 with genuine optimism.

The only way is up.
Well....almost. Ok well theres only 5 places below we can go down to, whereas theres loads above we can move up to!
