Post by: PeterWithe on August 31, 2010, 08:52:38 AM

I cant access the new site from home, I've cleared the cache, deleted cookies, tried with different browser and even deleted and reinstalled firefox. Any ideas?

I have had the same problem for a couple of weeks. I assume my IP Address has been banned, probably by some automatic process.

Peter Withe, you could additionally try and flush your dns cache. From the command line:
ipconfig /flushdns

Yes, smaller font and typeface, I take it you can adjust in profile but I've not tried yet.

Yup I've tried this flush but still the same message 'taking too long to respond', I am also with Virgin and can only access the site via a proxy, is it something Virgin will be able to help with? any other suggestions?

I am with Virgin Media as well, so the evidence is mounting. It would be worth contacting them.

Do you see Quote above your post?

What do you see when you click Reply?

Are you still using a proxy Peter Withe? If, as I suspect, this is the case, then you will not see the posting tools in the reply window due to various features such as scripting being switched off.

So you have to do manually with it bbcode.

You can do this as follows, ignoring the back slashes.

Type \[quote\]   then the stuff you want quoted and then \[/quote]

There is a page for BBCode help under Help | Posting Basics
